Eternum 1
Twas dusk when Chloe heard the faeries sing
inside the winds whispers in the valley ring
Their queen taking up her place
where moonlight shines upon her face

She speaks a word as light as air
and thru the mist a horse appears
Shining in the moon dropped veil
the dust of starlight on his tail

And faerie children with braided thread
loop a mein of dewdrops round his head
they give him petals of rose
and lavender to eat
Put a kiss upon his nose
and ribbons on his feet

Silver horses ride on stars
they sleep on clouds in the deepest blue
their mane and tail are moon spun gold
they make your dreams come true

Silver horses glide on moonbeams
while eveyone's asleep
Chloe knows the truth of what I speak
One night in the twiliight,
she first took a peek

With gossamer wings
they shimmer in their flight
Pale apparitions, glowing in the night

Unheard approached a hundred wings
over the starlit sea
A flight of shooting stars appeared
as dust beneath their feet

They did not know she watched them dance
beneath the haloed moon
while stardust fell from their manes
like fireflys in June

The next moment inside the glen
a siver horse appeared
And Chloe reached out to touch
his golden dewdropped hair

She chased him round the moonlit downs
but he escaped her there
He went into a forest mist
and disappeared it seemed
And left her with the fleeting thought
That it was just a dream

Chloe looked until her eyelids grew
too heavy for her eyes
And fell softly back to sleep
Her voice a whispered sigh

When next she told of the flight
I listened and I wondered
Should I tell about the night
I also heard the thunder

I don't recall the path I took
to get back to my bed
When a dream took flight
and wove, a vision in my head

My beard was white with moondust
my shoes beside the door
as I recalled the night I had
walking by the shore

A child on dappled moonlight
lifted from her slumber
As Silver Horses carried Chloe
where hearts are full of wonder

The ladies of my family say
that dreaming is a gift
From silver horses long ago
it is passed to young and swift

From when I came a father
with children I adore
To Jake and Jess, now Chloe
the cosmos to explore

If you read upon this whimsy
it may seem a fit of fancy
Or simple nonsense
Dreams are like that sometimes
But I have the evidence

I still sleep each night
and my dreams take flight
I step upon those shores
and ladies often ask me if..
'it's my dream or yours?'

What a magnificent poem! I love it, and I also have three children.

Welcome among us, and thank you so much for coming to be among us here; you make us better.

I think we have a lot in common, especially in terms of parenting.

I truly enjoyed reading this poem, and I would certainly like to encourage you in your writing. Come visit me on the main poetry posting board, and see what you think of my sonnets.

Thank you for the gracious welcome and words of encouragement. Parenting like poetry is a pleasure shared by people who know how to live fully the moments of life.

It is a great pleasure for me to commune with a kindred spirit and I see that like me, you too have found your muse. Loves abundance to both you and Silke for in loving each other you inspire others to do the same.

I accept your invitation to read your collection with pleasure.
