I came across a bit of information that linked tobacco use to depression, mental illness, and anxiety to name a few major points. I know from personal experience that certain feelings come back to me when I have quit for longer than 4 days, sort of like a nostalgia that goes along with experiencing life in general. I was just wondering if anybody else had some information regarding the negative mental impact of smoking(it is brain meta anyway).

Well the nicotine in the cigarette is the really kicker with potent MAOI inhibitory properties. I think the negative mental impact of smoking is obvious with cancer, circulation, heart disease, respiratory problems, bone thinning, macular degeneration, yellowing of teeth, etc etc etc. Nicotine patches are a safer alternative to replicate the same effects as you may have experienced.

I know many individuals who love to utilize the nicotine buzz. I personally like to do so myself through the use of galantamine as an alternative.

I was moreso trying to find evidence of negative mental effects

Same as physical. Oxidative stress and chronic long term inflammation make you prone to stroke. As far as cognition goes, no major changes aside from physical damage. http://www.jcrows.com/nicotine.html

The body is one and the same. Suffering from cancer, heart disease, respiratory problems, etc will have a huge repercussions on the brain. Though the link Flex provided above was definitely worth reading.

Not cigarette related, but I thought Phi might appreciate my new tincture smile.gif Check the specs!

That is interesting. I know for sure certain balances have a positive effect, but you never get to hear the levels of a strain(unless you're at a dispensery I suppose). I guess I need to look into cannabinoid receptors a little bit too, but I would like to hear more about this development.

You're working with a team of people on this?
Flex
I do not personally work on the project, I am a test monkey for the time being smile.gif I may start working with Dr. Frankel in the future, but not at the moment. I am pretty sure I could get him to make a video with me for the BM community (aside from those on his blog).

If we come up with some good questions for him, it could be pretty damn interesting. He is a cool dude to say the least.
Phi
id like to see it. i guess im most interested in detailed experiences of each formula
Flex
I could start a journal... Don't know how many batches I will be testing, probably only 3-4 over several months.
Phi
howd u get into it?
Flex
Dr. Frankel used to go to UCLA for med school, and I got talking to him about organic chemistry, and he told me about a start up company he was working on making tinctures, but he isn't allowed to work on it himself really because he writes cannabis recommendations, so it is a sort of conflict of interest. I might help him out with the project a bit.
