I want to know enough about my body to minimize the need for doctors. In the far future, I intend to be self-sufficient--with non-sentient robots taking care of my body. As I become a machine, the requirements for care will change. But I want it done by a non-sentient robot!

There are good health plans for people who want to be clued about their body. Catastrophic care, for example. It can be a lot cheaper. I don't want to go see a specialist for something I can look up on wikipedia.

would you want a wikipedian doing open heart surgery on you? I'd go with the specialist.

Thus the catastrophic insurance. But if I can locate sources for drugs or learn at least a little bit about my body--I'd rather do that.

LMAO!!!! So true! You just made me realize that I let this guys money comments get the best of me. And I thank you for that, Dianah. In reality, BM to me is a shrine. A shrine to science and to knowledge. But it's become much more than that over time. It has become my little hiding place where I can feel free in a way that nothing else does. It reminds me that there is hope for humanity and that I'm not alone in this thought. And as such, I view it as a sacred place where the hedious forces of evil that run this crazy world can not touch. And because of this, I guard BM with great jealousy. Thus I do my best to keep-off anything that reminds me of the cruel, corrupted outside world where evil forces of all nature rule; money being one of them. Therefore my reaction to Cybert; who so far has done a great job of sending all kinds of mixed signals with his posts. On the one hand, he seems to grasp the purpose of this forum with his posts about science and such; and then he turns right around to ask such cheap and mundane questions such as my money status. I think you hit the nail right in the head, though. He knows that he's getting some of us' juices running with his money comments, so he is enjoying himself annoying us just for the heck of it. And he's laughing at it too!

Yes. I'm tweaking people. I've been kicked off many boards for doing it. I know it. I do it because I want to poke fun at the way the world is. To exagerate the most depressing parts of the world. Money will be the first thing to go come singularity. So will gender. So I exagerate them to make a point.

But I think I agree with you on some very important things--transhumanism and hope for the future among them. I have a lot of hope.

Well its a sketch done by Leonardo Da Vinci, its a study of how draperies look on a person and although it looks simple on the front, it has some very complex fundamentals that Leonardo has applied to it. He had a sort of not to hot, not to cold approach to making it, if the Drapery revealed to much of the bodies actual form, it would look like a very thin piece of cloth, too little form and it wouldnt look realistic. So Instead he hit the major points that are furthest away from the center of the legs and emphasized those, even the largest muscles in the legs create certain fluctuations in the cloth. The end result is another masterpiece, I chose it not only because I am a fan of Leonardo Da Vinci's work but because this incospicous, seemingly simple picture is filled with complex ideas and thoughts behind it, much like Philosophy.
