Then, as they were afraid, and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them,
"why do you seek the living among the dead?" Luke 24:5
Behold the Lamb of God
For whom do you weep?
For whom do you seek?
You shall not find Him here
- in this desert place.
Our dear shepherd rose this day to tend His sheep
- in this blessed way.
This blessed day has come to pass your way.
This day now comes to cross your path,
at last.
Behold,
the lamb of God returns
unto His rightful place
by the right hand of the One
who brought forth all that has become
- this earthly place.
Behold,
the Lamb of God returns
you to your rightful place
by the right hand of the Son
which held your trembling tender face
- long before
long before you came to be
to march this wounded shameful race
long before you came to need
- to turn away
Only now, may you see,
the love is shown before your eyes
by the One who comes to see
- and find your face
Behold, behold,
the lamb alone is worthy still
to break this dreadful seal
- upon your fate
Behold, behold,
the Lamb alone is with you still
returning you to lead you here.
Shall you bow to hear the call?
- shall you hear?
Shall you walk beside the Lamb,
the stillness of the waters
coursing deeply through
- this earthly place?
Close your eyes, lift your face,
feel again the waters breath caressing you
- and behold;
now you know and may you come to love again,
now you know and may you come to love
- and behold.
