I guess bonafide sucker lists must be valuable. All they're asking for is confirmation that your email address is valid.

I get garbage like that all the time. I can't count the number of nigerian swindles I've gotten. They all want to transfer millions of dollars into my account and give me a percentage because they heard I was so honest. They either use your account number to steal from you or they demand a payment before they transfer the millions. I'm not sure but I don't think you get the millions if you give them money. Just a guess on my part.
I saw a website once by a guy who conned the swindlers. He had all the correspondence from various crooks who wrote him from Nigeria. They actually sent him money thinking he would give them thousands of dollars. He claimed to be the finance manager for a church. It was funny as hell, he made them do so many things like paint their bellies to get into the church. Then he had someone else write them back after they sent the money saying the guy they talked to fled with church funds.
