...As Falls the Rain

Green parrots are squawking
In congress converging
Wet people out walking
Look up at their urging
And see there's a break in the rain
Until the next drenching again

The ravens are quiet
They know rain's returning
Offended by riot
Their black eyes are burning
At what they see as avian stupidity
They hate the parrots and all their cupidity

The ravens are right as always again
The parrots fall silent ...as falls the rain
