Great Grandeurs
============
When I was in teens
Habituated to wearing crowns of glory
I became a tough knot to my trots
When I was in twenties
I occasioned to glance the grace of love
And wrote poetry in the ecstasy
When I moved to thirties
I had thirst
To own a house ,a car and
Prop up my children
When I opened the doors of forties
Prosecuting children’s education
Was added to budgetary expenditure
When I clasped the tunes in fifties
Snoring started in the roaring lion
With excessive medicare costing high
Now in a year or two
I gate crash to sixties
Expecting new grands to hang on
to my chest keeping the affections stick high
Then I have to look young as I grow older and older
Coloring the gray top to look jet black
And wearing gaudy designs forgetting the past
Keeping the grandies playing on the laps.
