The Cat
The cat looked at me from the window ledge
I told him that each time I glanced at him
Was time lost in living
My boy looked at me through the crack in the door
I told him that each time I spoke to him
Was time lost in working
My wife looked at me as I poured a sparkle of water
I told her that each time I stopped here
Was time lost in thinking
My friend looked at me from the doorstep
I told him that each time I answered the door
Was time lost in sleeping
The cat looked at me from the window ledge
And then turned away

What a magnificent sonnet, my dear friend.
I will miss you.
I hope you will visit me at:
http://www.authorsden.com/stevencurtislanceOr at Kevin's new site, at:
http://www.yy2.com/www.poethouse.com/YaBB.plI've made an arse o' meself here, and it's time to call it a day.
I hope you and everyone else will forgive me for making such a bloody botch of everything.
I only ask for these two things in parting:
That I be allowed continued use of my poetry pages, with which I make books,
and that I be granted the title of "Poet in Residence Emeritus."
And so I go quietly, with no fuss.
Respect and solidarity to all, my dear friends, my dear fellow poets;
and cheers and everbest to you, my dear B.
I will miss you most of all.

Steven
What have you done that is so wrong? Nothing! You are a philosophical and talented poet with great sensitivity - in your work and in your personality. You are easily hurt and also like to give your tuppence worth back. So what is wrong with that? We all do it. But you do it most eloquently. Stay here AND also spread your works wherever you can.
I have missed your heavier involvement here over the past week or two. We really need your input. Your special (unique) style IS the Poetry Board at BrainMeta.com. It makes it more than just another poetry board it has personality (yours) and thus reality within this lifeless internet.
I know you will stay, but continue as Steven Curtis Lance and not as unknown. Let us twits see more of you, to educate, elucidate, permeate and stimulate our miserable lives. Just come back, delete of the crap and get on with your delicious poetry; I'm hungry and I need art to eat!
hey hey hey hey hey?

No. It's over.
My time here has passed, and many are glad of it.
Nor could I delete anything were I of a mind to, as I no longer possess moderation privileges. Indeed, at first I noticed I was a mere basic member who could not even reply to Shawn's message betraying more than a hint of satisfaction at this turn of events.
So be it.
Now Anonymust, Franziska, Jasper... all the old gang can come back and figuratively dance upon my grave.
I see I have been restored to full membership at least, something which had been promised me for a lifetime.
Goodbye, my dear friend.
Shawn

it was an error on my part Steve. You were unintentionally a basic member for a few minutes before I realized the mistake I had made and corrected it. You were not a basic member for more than 10 minutes. I do not think anyone will dance on your grave as I do not regard this as your grave. Like I said in my PM, you are welcome to come back whenever you want and to assume all former moderating abilities. I do not want you to go but realize it's your choice to make, not mine, and I will respect whatever choice you make. But do feel free to come back if you feel so inclined. There is no need for goodbye's here.

"There is no need for goodbye's here. "
Especially not at this time of year and so close to the landmark in your life. I would really look forward to celebrating that landmark with you on this forum through poerty. I know we can interact via other poerty boards, but your soul is needed here. I reckon you need a well earned sabbatical or a sojurn, and look forward to seeing you after.

I see "The Secret Place" is left to me; perhaps I can post my sonnets there.
Those of you who still possess moderating privileges:
Please, would you delete all my nonsense, everything but the sonnets? Get rid of that book ad, all those stupid replies, delete it all but the sonnets.
And, Shawn, since I couldn't reach you in my message, I might as well ask you here:
Please let me retain the full privileges of my poetry pages, so that I can use them in the making of books.
And if you would be so kind as to call me "Poet in Residence Emeritus," it would mean a great deal to me. Anyone with any sense knows that means nothing, but it does represent what I once was here, and that means something, at least to me.
Please, just delete everything but the sonnets, as I cannot.
Perhaps I will post sonnets in "The Secret Place." In any case, I will post them in my poetry pages, elsewhere on the site, a privilege which I greatly appreciate.
Thank you for the last two years.
I am so terribly sorry about everything.
Goodbye.

I have added the 'Emeritus' to your title and have reinstated your Mod abilities. I'm not sure what the issue here is, Steve, but maybe you'd like to talk about it?
