Transcendental Sonnet #1155:
A Yellow Rose in Winter
for Silke
A yellow rose in winter
Souvenir of summer sun
Amidst the ice a splinter
Unending as unbegun
Of hope which smiles in greeting
Forgotten but never gone
Gone but never forgotten
Invincibly defeating
Winter dusk as summer dawn
Eternally begotten
Blooming ever always new
Rose unfrozen in the snow
My sweet love I think you know
That this rose belongs to you

I'm so happy you like it! I'll write you some more, OK?
Have you checked out your site yet since I added all your books? It's all up and running. I've been talking to Simon there about it, and it's good to go. Now you can really make it your own and add all sorts of good things; it'll be great.
I love you. You just stick with me, and we'll have so much fun we won't be able to stop giggling. The future belongs to us, baby-girl; "a full tank of gas and a clean windshield," as my Grandpa used to say.

Great sonnet! Yellow roses are beautiful, they stand for friendship I do believe!

Yellow does stand out well in winter. It has brightness and warmth. So very well chosen imagery here.
