To Not Miss A Moment
Watching
So quietly
While you sleep
To not miss a moment
Of your gentle ageing
Holding
So closely
While you walk
To not miss a moment
Of your soothing warmth
Kissing
So tightly
While you smile
To not miss a moment
Of your precious love

A beautiful and moving tribute to your wife Miriam, and to the long and happy and successful marriage which you share. Through good times and bad, you've gotten through it all and are still in love, with two fine sons of whom anyone would be proud.
You are rich, my dear friend; you have had financial ups and downs as we all have, even maybe a few harder downs--as I have had!--but, having Miriam, you are a rich man indeed.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful tribute here among us. I am so enjoying all your new works today on the board, and this one touched me especially.
I send you loving solidarity from Silke and me. You have Miriam, and you have friends who care for you; you will never be alone.
Thank you for being my friend.

Note to cowardly unknowns:
Do not fancy yourselves so clever kicking a man when he is down already. That is not cleverness, it is cruelty.

Life-threatening health problems, life-destroying financial problems, and potentially life-ending problems of depression. Respect the man for being a brilliant scientist, educator, husband, father, and author.
He volunteers his valuable time to work for us here on the poetry board. He had thought it would prove therapeutic and of benefit to him. Instead he has become a lightning-rod for all sorts of abuse, which hurts him more than anyone can imagine.
Hey Hey has a real name, a real life, and he is my friend. I can tell you, knowing him as I do, he is worthy of your respect, and utterly unworthy of your condemnation and mockery.
I have a hell of time keeping poetry mods on this board, because cowardly unknowns drive them away. Stop it, damn it! I can use some good help around here, and when I get it, you run them off.
So be nice. I want to have a poetry community here. That's what I am paying for. I am not investing in this website to have it be a place where I invite my friends, give them responsibility, and then see them tortured.
I have outgrown all this nonsense. But we have some brave people on the front lines here, and you're killing them.
God knows I've had my share of problems with weirdos hereabouts, but now I hate to see my friends coming in for it. Have you seen Aiyana, rosediamond, or Windowmaker around much lately? Can you blame them? At least Hey Hey is in there trying, and he writes and posts great poetry too.
Give Hey Hey a chance. Read his exquisite poetry with an open mind. Be cool.
You people talk about expanding consciousness and about being open? Let's see you expand your consciousnesses, open your minds a little. OK?
Hey Hey is a great guy. I know him well.
Hell, I'm not even so bad, once you get to know me.
Let's be cool here, OK?
Remember that this is the main poetry posting board. Reply to poems, but do not attack the poets personally; that's just stupid and mean. Nor is this the poetry critique board; we have one of those, too, but this is not it. It's never OK to attack people personally, anywhere on this website.
Peace, and mutual respect.

Don't count me out yet. I still get in when I can. I have been busy with a few other things but you know my work schedule. It's crazy and hasn't really slowed down. I contribute when and where I can, usually replying to other's posts, welcoming new members and once in a while I post one (of course it's been a while since I've seen any replies. However, I do not write to count replies. I write to simply touch people.
I will continue to moderate here. You can't scare me away! If I ever left, fear, hatred, abuse, etc. would not be a cause.
And, friendships are unending - no matter who you vote for! (J/K)

Kevin, would you send me your address again? I cleaned out my Inbox on the site recently and lost it. If you will send it to me again, I will have my Collected Poems sent to you.
Thanks, and

Thanks everyone above for your gracious comments on my poem. It was a simple effort but written from the heart about someone special. Especially special since she has just brought in a cup of tea. What more could a man want? I'm drawing the curtains now as kisses are in order.
