Rattling around in my freezing house
Between rhymes
Feeling like a lonely little mouse
Between times
When I can talk to her
Sweet lover of my choice
When I can hear her voice

The ghosts of those who were
Once here
In pain
Remain
I fear

They are here with me but I am still alone
With only the shadows I have always known
