I've downloaded Skype to enable me to receive free PC to PC voice calls and would be pleased to hear from anyone in a similar frame of mind.
Calls to handsets from the PC cost about a pence (UK money) to most worldly places, made possible by buying credits!
It is even possible to set up conference calls for up to 4 or 5 people!
I do not quote a download site only to placate users who dislike anything that can be construed to be an advert.
The technology is available - free software, free PC to PC calls, cheap PC to handset calls, and cheap mic./headset availability !!
I believe Skype is not the only V.O.I.P. (voice over internet protocol) software available.
I await calls from anyone with sensible words to hear!!

Success !!
My first two way conversation over the internet was with a German gentleman who enjoys reading and watching movies.
We had an interesting conversation - and all for free!.
And now I find that you can also send and receive instant messages and transfer files (from friends that you can trust)!
If you want to call me my handle is

Of course, you have to pay for the interent access to get on the web in the first place!
If you've got a 'no-time limit' internet account, the phone calls cost nothing extra [PC to PC], but if you are on dial-up, I guess your phone calls will cost about 1 pence [UK] per minute to anywhere in the world [PC to PC].
