Through Your Eyes

You always say such Lovely things I say are not true.
I am not Beautiful I don't see me as you do.
you keep on saying you really feel this way.
It makes no diffrence no matter what I say.
How could someone say I am a sexy gal.
Looking in the mirror I just can not see how.
I wish that I could see me as you see me Through Your Eyes.
One time to believe its not just another lie.
You make me feel nice what you say and do.
But deep inside I know that its not true.
Baby listen to me and the words I say
Trust me and smile don't turn your face away.
So look into the mirror and finally agree
accept it that you really are the beauty
that I see.

is there such a thing as an objective beauty? I have often wondered. Ideas of beauty change with fashion. What Ruebins saw as beauty wouldn't pass muster on the catwalk today. Then there is what I would call ugly beautiful, which is sometimes the most beautiful of all. Conversely there is beautiful ugly where the beauty really is only skin deep. We are all caught in the trap of fashions notions of what is beautiful or not. Unless we conform to what the glossy magazines decide is beautiful, it is hard to have the confidence to see it in ourselves. However, despite all this, I think there is an objective standard. Personally I think it is possible to say with some degree of objectivity that Jennifer Lopez is more beautiful than my old head mistress for example, who was a frightful looking old crone with green teeth and a beard.

As far as your poem goes, yes, I completely understand what you are saying.
