I’m wondering
If I were to write a load of guff
Let’s say
something completely off the cuff
about nothing whatsoever,
Would anyone fail to see the bluff
and consider me rather clever
.
If I should fashion a combination
of unrelated nonesensical and disjointed phrases
Would anyone think there was hidden meaning
And shower me with their praises.
Or would they just think I was taking the piss
And tell me to go to blazes
Just wondering.

Well, my friend, I'll shower you with my praises, for what they are worth; I think this is a wonderful poem. It has an easy grace, a natural elegance which I find very attractive. And it does end up having a great deal of meaning really, hidden and otherwise; a pleasant aftertaste of consideration. It reminds me of the way my own sonnets are born, and wonders aloud about the process of composition in a fluent and a gracious way. Well done, I say.

Now you've got me wondering;
why choose bread, when there's chewing gum?
What do you offer someone
whose stomach might be growling?
Bread?
C'mon, get with it and snappy,
there's nothing a little slieght of hand won't cover,
(or at least distract.)
Such an imposition, all this trouble digesting tracts.
Such a bother, all the preparation of a proper loaf.
Why, indeed, when we have instead and handy,
our multiflavored chewing gum.
I'll say this though, there's a new form on the rise,
and I think I like it,
it makes me wonder if the first Tourett was a poet also.

Georges Albert Edouard Brutus Gilles de la Tourette? Tourettes syndrome? A tic disorder? Gasping and grunting in speech causing misunderstanding of the victim's meaning? Something to do with overproduction of dopamine and which can also be effected by seretonin? Now why does that ring a bell? Where have I come accross references to those brain chemicals recently? 'be-ing or me-ing' replies by hey hey and jasper. You're a clever guy Shawn.
Steven, I much appreciate your reply.

ha! umm i think that nonsensical poetry is kind of like blob art. nobody knows what it means so everyone tacks on their own meanings and loves the art because it has a 'special meaning' to them. when something doesnt make sense it can mean anything so someone that writes nonsense means everything and nothing making the author a genius in eyes of readers.

caitiff,
