Very frequently it seems that one of the ruling principles of the universe is irony. In many cases, out of two alternatives, the one that maximizes irony seems to be the one that occurs. Such an opportunity is coming up with the USA election November second.

Wouldn't it be fittingly ironic indeed if John Kerry wins by the electoral votes in Florida, but the Republicans demand a recount, and before the recount can be completed, the supreme court steps in and stops it? Perhaps the gods will agree that such an eventuality could make the election worth watching.
