Here is some of the chapter of my current book that is addressing this issue and other technologies that few scientists know about and those who know about them are in bed with some powerful people.
CHAPTER ELEVEN: Cogitating Consciousness:
“The self-replicating peptides that are part of known science may lead to conception but when we talk about self-replicating we do not need to see it in human terms - they can build new robots and thus are self-replicating. The Oak Ridges bio-ram that was achieved in 1999 from spinach chlorophyll receptors will draw power from the sun and when you add the brain contents of humans onto computer chips in the nanobots it raises a unique possibility. The Computeronics and AI team will have a field day with this one.
Consider having the brain contents from a top adept who can dimensionally travel and bi-locate in a million elements of a sentient robot. Like holographic repetition of constituent parts to the whole a most interesting neural net could be achieved; if each processing center or chakra within the entity were to have a most adept human’s brain contents.” Sean commented to the lead people of all the groups at the daily Integration meeting.
“Dr. Wallace of Carnegie Mellon has some interesting perspectives that relate to this which he has been working on for a long time. It would seem that he and Gary Hillis and others are convinced that the sentient robots will include something like the soul. I know you don’t think so and most of us are inclined to think the consciousness of such machines is not going to rise to the level of a human soul. And yet what you are saying here might lead to a super soul potentially.” Conrad, the leader of the computer team remarked.
“We will certainly have to keep this under close scrutiny given the creation of such a life force may have all manner of ethical implications.” (1) Sean remarked with a sense of concern.
“Should we proceed at all? The Transhumanists have had a lot of negative press with the things they have been saying.” Joseph, the Marketing leader commented.
“I think you are right about that. If we all feel this is not just for us to decide I think we should approach Derek and explain the chances of us being successful and what the implications are.” Sean responded.
“We are far from knowing if we can do a complete sentient robot and even when we have done it, which I think we can, it may not have any real soul and certainly not a super soul. But make no mistake about it; we can make a living computer with the human brain contents dumped into it.” Conrad replied.
“If we can make a living computer with human brain contents and put the best human brains together in such a thing it is a scary business and you are just splitting hairs when you talk about a ‘complete sentient robot’ as I see it.” Joseph responded.
“Should I ask Derek to come join this meeting?” Stephanie suggested.
“Yes, if he and any of the rest of the top brass are around I think this warrants having a meeting right now.” Tony commented. “Because I do think there is soul of some sort in all things and the more refined they are the more it concerns me.”
The people were worried and Rose Anne expressed what many of them felt. “If we can do it – so can others. This is no simple golem or alchemist’s homonunclus that we are contemplating here.”

“So, we are in a position to do this sooner than any others that we know are already working on it. But there are some who might not be absolutely up front about what they are doing who are using human brains and clones to achieve this and they may even have a jump on us. We think this will lead to having to take humanity into space in order to survive as a species because at present we are pretty sure the ‘powers that be’ on earth will use these robots to do the dirty work, then simply blame the robots.”
“But this will make us the same as those ‘powers that be’ who are planning something similar and we must have these ‘things’ to work with if we are to compete.” Tony commented.
“I think we must make every effort to warn people about what will happen and end all nations and standing armies or spy agencies. Going into space with a few people is fine but what about all those who will not be able to go? Having a kid is pretty stupid right now. Maybe I should get an abortion.” Rose Anne started to tear-up as she saw what horrors they were about to unleash from Pandora’s Box.
