Denial & Acceptance
Denial of real truths which should be faced up, to can make life seem more acceptable but can hardly be called true and honest living. It may contribute to emotional problems which caused the denial in the first place.
Acceptance of untruths which should be ignored or cast aside leads to a false sense of reality.
It may exacerbate those concepts which caused the acceptance in the first place.
Fear & Fearlessness
Fear of facing up to those things which may cause emotional discomfort can cause restrictions on life and add to an unreal concept of reality.
Fearlessness of threats which can affect ones livelihood can lead to some nasty surprises which may well affect ones life severely.
It is in the interests of each and everyone of us to balance our judgements so as to effect a harmonoius and realistic assessment of the factors to ensure the path to the truth is not thwarted or misdirected.
Unfortunately, we each have different reference levels, based on our own belief systems and experiences.
This simply means that what one person fears is accepted by others and so on. We all make our own judgements, and the best predictor known to man is the majority consensus of opinion of the issue in question.
Again, unfortunately, this consensus of opinion is rarely available, and in any case, it cannot be weighted by the relevance, sensibility and accuracy of the thoughts of the individuals who contribute to the consensus of opinion.
