*Singing *Sunrise* By Norah Jones...(Can you hear me sing?)* smile.gif

Sunrise, sunrise
Looks like mornin' in your eyes
But the clocks held 9:15 for hours
Sunrise, sunrise
Couldn't tempt us if it tried
'Cause the afternoon's already come and gone

And I said hoo...
To you

Surprise, surprise
Couldn't find it in your eyes
But I'm sure it's written all over my face
Surprise, surprise
Never something I could hide
When I see we made it through another day.....

I think this is my favorite haiku ever; it's really, if you will, "transcendental"!

You are the haiku master. I would say more, and more intelligently, but my fingers are frozen now because my furnace is flooded out. Brrrr!

More later... when I thaw... But I do love your haiku; they are amazing microcosms.

You are becoming a truly important poet, dear B, and not just in haiku. I wish I had the strength to reply to all the wonderful poems on the board these days, especially yours. Aiyana's got some especially good ones too. But we are having a flood, and I am frozen just now... So I must roll up like a taquito with Fred on top and a cup of tea alongside, with perhaps my writing hand sticking out with a pencil, just in case.

When the waters recede from my cellar, I will climb down and try to fire up the furnace, and return to life. But now I would surely drown.

Love to you, my dear friend.

(Silke, I could hear you singing! I thought that was you! I am glad to know I wasn't just dreaming...)
