It Would Blasphemous To Say You're Right Too
For peace to endure here on Earth,
We have to understand, we are all correct,
Only we have the right to tell us how to be,
By the people we elect.
Only we live, where we do,
Our rules are not all the same,
We all live in different places,
All with a different name.
It got the name a long time ago,
A name with no reason to hide,
It cost the lives of many,
The reason for our pride.
We defend our country in everyway,
Not just on the borders,
We have a society,
Based on laws and orders.
The laws are many and very complex,
But they are all based upon ten,
Given to us by faith,
Way back when.
They are correct in everyway,
The same as your own,
With them, we have our moral scale,
A spiritual place called home.
So when you come with your bombs,
Strapped around your chest,
Blowing up women and children,
Are you really doing your best ?
To follow your own faith's teachings,
To your best ability,
Or are you just saying,
Hey World ! Look at me.
Because in your faith there is a rule,
One that promotes peace not ill,
One of the basic laws of faith,
It's wrong to kill.
Remember as a child, meeting your faith,
For the very first time,
It all made perfect sense,
Purity of thought, action and mind.
Faith told you for the first time,
Killing is the wrong thing to do,
And in your child-like mind,
You were glad it was true.
It meant you had a right to live,
To become anything you want to,
It meant that no one has the right,
To just come along and kill you.
With this in mind,
Can you, tell me of your lot,
The reasoning behind,
Why you have forgot.
Don't say it's about your faith,
Because our faiths, are the same,
The only differences being,
Coloquial mannerisms and name.
Don't say it's because we're wrong,
Or the fact you think you're right,
We're both correct if we see both sides,
Yet you feel this need to fight.
Don't say it's because, they said so,
Or it's something you were told,
That excuse has been used for far too long,
It's now far too old.
You are a person,
In charge of your own mind,
You choose yourself,
To be evil or kind.
Kindness is measured,
By the way you show respect,
Kindness isn't measured,
In a kilo of Semtex.
To realise what is wrong,
We must find some common reason,
Not excuse it with ideals,
In killings open season.
There is a reason why it goes wrong,
Sorry but it is true,
But we would be blasphemous,
If we agreed with you.
This is what stops us
From ever being a friend,
This is why wars start,
And why they never end.
Our faith is exactly the same,
Yours says the same too,
You are not allowed to trust us,
We are not allowed to trust you.
Your faith says, "don't trust strangers"
They will lead you astray,
But you are not strangers,
Not in this world of today.
If you were, strangers,
With the words full meaning,
You would be something else,
And not be a human being.
To try and be more positive,
To let all the false hate go,
Understand a stranger is just a friend,
Whose name you don't know.
But if everything else in our faith,
Is the same on a principal scale,
If we only notice the differences,
Peace can never prevail.
But if everything else in our faith,
Is the same on a principle scale,
If we embrace the differences,
Then peace can never fail.
Think about it. Please.
