Modern society is still trying to live under the same moral rules as those who wrote the morality laws long ago, where it was deemed to negate the existence of their society as it couldn't produce an offspring. This was misinterpreted as the love of a fellow human being, being greater than that of their own society. Thus some religious beliefs wrongly taught people to deny sexuality and their texts preached a form of purity that was not meant for humans to possess at this early stage in our universal development.
