Full Version: the ego is the clue

A taste, a nibble or a bite
I'd like to give you all a hint
a clue, a glint
of where my mind is at tonight.

would anybody care to
throw a little light
on what might
lay behind the thinking
in these lines.

Can anybody thread
the two together
get inside my head
and find out whether
I am onto something worthy of a poem.

Behind these lines there lies a story
with a moral
which I feel I ought to tell
but it needs telling well
and I need more time to dwell
on it

so in the meantime, have a look
pour a drink,
if that helps, have a think
and see if you can find the missing link

real and lasting confidence
is earned in dollars not in cents

and

nourish the mind the body and the soul
learn to exercise some self-control.
