caitiff
i am kisses under a bright moon to you
smiling lips and swinging hips
i am not me, i am not i, i am she
the girl with almond eyes
and long fingers
my name is often confused on your tongue
we together are are not we;
we are he and she
the girl that loves the boy
that doesnt love her back
and so the story goes
he and she together as always
one sided passion in shared kisses
one sided longing and stares
not being religious,
i pray for you every night
you are not religious
so you simply sleep at night
we go on long stoned walks
through leaves and trees and autumn
i always hope you'll say you love me
but you never do

16 hits on your poem and not a single comment. I wonder why?

It's funny. Some poems on this site leave me either cold, or scratching my head, wondering what meaning lies behind their secretive obscurity. Yet these same poems often receive what appears to me to be almost psycophantic praise. Others, this one for example, which is clear and only needs reading once to leave a clear impression go un appraised. I don't get it.

Haven't we all felt this one sided love at one time or another? Yes. So the story goes. I think you express it well.
Hey Hey
Dear its, you rightly point out this lovely poem. That I missed it before might only be excused by the rate of poems passing at times of board work stress due to a multitude of reasons. But all poets should not be dismayed when comments are not forthcoming. It is not an obligation of visitors or even contributers to comment on the work of others, although it is nice when that happens. To see the hits indicates a readership, as you point out. That in itself is a nice reward. Of course, on the critique board we might assume that "no comment" is possibly also a polite way of saying "rubbish". This is not the case here. I wonder if the time of posting and the number of comments received prior to dropping down the list is a factor? Is there someone out there who could do some research on this? My calculator is broken (!) so I can't do it.

Lovely poem.
