- Monkey See -
Poised with an affinity for death
He rises before the city
One foot strokes the ledge
The other trails with pity
He retreats from the sharpened edge
And curiously bows to the ground
This surface he will be meeting soon
Inevitably lays abound
Faint screams spill from the crowd
He suspects they see him standing
But they clearly point away from him
Someone else has done the landing
A young girl is sprawled at their feet
Legs are shattered, arms are broken
Blood clearly sweeps the cement
The first suicide has spoken
The crowd still fails to notice
How the girl interrupted his try
A scene he quietly observes
Redirects his dying cry
----> The theme to this poem is "Monkey see, monkey don't"
Is that too corny? I think it is. I don't know.
