Hey Hey
Then The Vision

The vision changed the world
Not a second coming
For they never went away
We just didn't realise
They didn't realise
They became us
We became them
Then the vision

What is this vision?
Did you see something?
How many people saw something?
Will all who saw admit it?
Will those who did not see believe?
Did anyone understand?
What will happen next?
Did anyone care?

The vision did change the world
There is no world
There is no them
There is no us
We became the vision
They didn't realise
We became them
Then the vision

that girl
quite intriguing and complex.
Hey Hey
Perhaps this was too difficult to understand when the penultimate line was "They became us". The line was erroneous anyway as three lines above I stated "There is no us". This was a stupid error and I have modified the line. No-one is perfect and I'm not even a no-one!

H.,

Sometimes,
when I look at my young girls,
(still quite innocent at seven years old)
I wonder what vision will be theirs when, (or if)
they look upon the world
with eyes as old as mine.

The world is facing a change,
we're running out of the stuff we depend upon.

What vision will be theirs when they no longer find
what we taught them to count on?

Sometimes I look into the eyes of my little girls,
while they're playing and singing,
and I think,
they don't know whats coming.
They don't know the world is facing a change of vision,
a change of heart.

I know whats coming,
but I don't know what they will have to face.

'Then The Vision'-
brings to me a haunting glimpse of a hopefulness I cannot claim for myself.
Hey Hey
Dear Shawn

Thanks for such deeply considered comments. You know, I have two sons, 27 and 23 years and a grandaughter 20 months. They are all, even my sons, still quite unaware of the seriousness of what is happening and what could come. That is good, in one way. I just hope that if one scenario happens they will go without suffering. But I also hope that their future will be fullfilling and long, and will include much peace. Apparently as you get older you start thinking that times have never been as bad, but actually they always were. But I can't believe that and I'm seriously worried.

Hey Hey
ps I don't know how I got such old sons, as I'm only about 18 years old myself. Who's that shouting "Grow up?".

It's too early for me to give proper commentary on this profound poem. I just wanted you to know that I read it, I very much enjoyed it, and it thrilled me to read something that revved up my mind this morning!

~Much Love~

Hey Hey
Thanks Megan.
akhtar
i don't quiet know what it is about this poem but it intrigues me, i do like the idea of it.
Hey Hey
There are many possible interpretations dear akhtar. I don't want to spoil other people's view on the meaning by giving my own reasoning for it. But from the first verse to the last, there is an intention to show that from an observer of a vision develops a creator of a vision. The vision can be of many things - you decide.
