Lucerne Valley

The sun wakes and paints the land
with the heart of an artist and a lover's hand.

It paints the desert and bluest skies above.
Warmth envelopes me in the place I love.

The dew glistens, colors surround.
Peace and serenity will always be found.

The temerature rises. The desert comes alive.
Wild-eyed creatures awake; another day to survive.

People abound in my hometown.
Carrying with them a smile, or an occasional frown.

The colors run wild; beauty untold.
Mountains in the distance; standing so bold.

Mother nature smiles from above.
This is the place I dearly love.

I wish I could write about my surroundings, but it would basically be:

College
Students
Broke

Lovely poem, Kevin! I hope I find a home I can write about someday!

~Much Love~
