Hey Hey
Call It Home

A shard, a card, a death, a wreath
An inspiration to bequeath
A legacy of friendship new
Diminishing, excuses few

Relate, too late, for now, no row
Commiserate, shake hands, head bow
A future promised to connect
The chances no more to reject

A talk, a walk, far away, today
A firm agreement made to stay
No more finding that excuse
No disguise or making ruse

At last, the past, no more, new shore
No looking back, just look afore
Take pleasure in the best to come
Join all together, call it home

Traditional, forward, and familiar. I find comfort in reading your poem. I like how it illustrates anticipation.

Reading your poetry is always a pleasure. This post has a very cozy feeling to it. Very nice!

Hey Hey
It's so nice that you read my poems and take the time to comment. Thank you.

Hear Hear Hey Hey, I like it too!

I am fairly bursting with a secret for Silke... I will simply have to tell you privately, but I must not tell her, so as not to spoil the surprise. That is what I have been up to today, and why I haven't gotten anything new written yet today; I have been doing something pleasantly surprising. I have been plotting and scheming a happy and a pleasant thing. What fun it is to hatch beneficial schemes; I can't imagine that the hatching of the customary nefarious ones are half so much fun.

Well, I just wanted to pop in to tell you I love all your work, and always enjoy reading your poetry in general and this one in particular. Sorry I'm a bit of an absentee of late (did you like my T. S. #1018?)... I have finally gotten all caught up on my poetry pages, and then there is this little scheme I've been hatching...

Whew! What a busy time of it it's been! Now I will try to relax a little and maybe come up with a sonnet to post.

All my love to all.

Wasn't that funny what that "Unknown" person said about me?

Thanks to you and Megan both for handling it so well. Some people just can't abide me; I just drive them nuts for some reason; it's always been like that.

Oh well, I'm having a lovely day today, so nothing bothers me. I had a really fancy rock band experience at Starbucks today; I got "put on the list" for these really coveted shows, which means I get in free. A poetry fan! These flame kids have no idea how cool I actually am. My kids were terribly, terribly impressed. A poetry fan who is something of a rock star saw me and chatted me up, and I gave him a copy of my book. So now I'm "on the list." Hollywood, baby! Poetry can take one places I never dreamed. Perhaps a sonnet or two of mine will become famous rock songs now.

All in all, a very good day.

I got a lovely package from Silke today, too. *Sigh* A LOVELY package...

I am so fortunate to have a friend like you, Hey Hey. If people think I am gay gay, okay okay. Silke knows I'm not, in any case.

Hope to see you on the boards later. I will try to write something decent. You are really writing well, by the way; Megan too.

Until later then.
Hey Hey
Steven

You and I know that there can be friendship. Some others can't understand this. I do hope that they will grow up to understand. Otherwise they will miss out on something special. You are one of the good guys!

Yes I did read 1018. I commented somewhere, can't remember where. You have a talent for making people feel good. Thanks so much.

Friendship!

Hey Hey
ps I am old enough to remember when gay meant happy, glad to be alive, jolly. One of my school friends was named Gay. She was always happy. I hope she still is, after they stole her name. Note: I'm not homophobic, just don't like my language being hijacked without consultation.
