Full Version: Time to Shine

‘Twas the daybreak yawn
through young lungs once known
followed by
arms stretching upward
reaching out endless
for the sunshine
rising
in the eyes of
a growing child with unfounded insight
wisdom
for life is simply joyous
and ignites the enlightened one.

‘Twas the twilight jaunt
through the hillsides at night
followed by
moon lit pathways
guiding our steps
for the sunshine
subsides
on the face of
a glowing orb in limitless sky
patience
burns the lantern that shone us
the way we are capable of running.

‘Twas the pinnacle breach
through nomenclature misrepresenting all
followed by
every last one
stepping outside
for the sunshine
reminder
on the soul of
lone warriors basking in
love
like the magic rite that brought us
together the first time.

I take great pleasure in reading your poems out loud. They ring out with such power, such emotion. Gorgeous.
