Ground Zero
I’m back on ground zero
More damaged than before
With wounds that cannot be mended
With feelings that cannot be undone
I’m back on ground zero
Winds of change in the air
Yet I cling on to memory
Of things forgotten and over
I’m back on ground zero
My tears keep falling down
No matter how I try and try
I just cannot seem to let go
....Ich bin ein Amerikaner.
September 11, 2001. A day that will forever be remembered.
Let it not be remembered for the evil acts of violence targeted at fear, panic and death. But remember the human spirit, the brotherhood of mankind, and the goodness that not only New Yorkers but Americans and the world over have dedicated to saving our most precious resource: life. For this is the only way to stand up to those wish to fight from shadows, or are rabid enough to believe it is worth their own life to see so many others end.

Thank you with all my heart for this, my love.
I hope you don't mind, but I have taken the liberty of "pinning" this to the top of the board for this sad anniversary. It's a wonderful poem, and it certainly is timely.
It has special resonance coming from across the sea, written by someone from Sweden who is in solidarity with suffering wherever it occurs.
I want people to see it, to read it. Would you be willing to add it to the poetry board as well?
Thank you for your solidarity.
It reminds me of when John Kennedy proclaimed
"Ich bin ein Berliner"
at the Berliner Mauer, at the Wall.
I love you, and I am proud of you.
Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est.

I agree with Steve, this is something you should post on the poetry board, for I have a poem over there called LONG ROAD, that wasn't intended as a politcal write, but has been often veiwed as one (I might post it, here), and this [your] write is deserving of the recognition in and on all avenues, for poetry within itself is a "Life-Preserver" for many.
Safe journey

P.s.
Hope to see it posted there, soon.
