Secret Machine
Feed me, my secret machine.
Let me, escape into our fantasy.
Comfort me, when nothing else will.
Torture me, when you are not in reach.
Seduce me, with words from afar.
Take me, away for awhile.
Thrill me, with the risks we take.
Secure me, with no strings that bind.
Tangle me, within your embrace.

Kevin,
You have "made my evening" with your gracious comments! Thank you so very much. I am so insecure about my writing ; I appreciate it when anyone posts a reply, especially when the reply is as kind as yours.
Thanks Again,

You don't need to be insecure about your writing, radiogirl; I really like it too, and I'm Kevin's Jedi Master (so he tells me)!
So you have it from Master and Padowan both: good poem.
Thank you so much for being a part of us, for helping us to build this place into a real community. We can really do great things here. I want so much for us to be a truly close, truly harmonious collective of poets, free of all negativity, profoundly marked by empathy and kindness.
We have suffered, and it shows... in our kindness to one another, in our empathy.
I believe with all my heart that we can be great, both collectively and individually.
I send you every good wish for every happiness, every success, every bright and shining epiphany along the way, all the way home.

Steven,
Between your post and Kevin's I will happily find rest tonight. I agree with your beautifully poetic reply, we have all had enough pain and deserve the solace of one another's support. I truly appreciate your considerate reply. Thank you so much!
I do have a question, if you don't mind, will you please read "An Institutionalized Welcome" and give a brief reply?
Thank You Very Much,
radiogirl
Could you please translate the Latin?

Hi radiogirl...
We'll get through all of this together somehow, all of us...
I was on my way out the door, but I'll go and read your poem.
But first, here's some Latin I like, and what it means:
ET IN TERRA PAX = and on earth peace
AD ASTRA PER ASPERA = to the stars through difficulty
POST NUBILA PHOEBUS = after the clouds the sun
AMOR VINCIT OMNIA = love overcomes everything
UBI CARITAS ET AMOR, DEUS IBI EST = where there is caring/kindness/value and love, there is God
NON MORIAR SED VIVAM = I shall not die but live
DUM SPIRO SPERO = where there is life there is hope
FIAT LUX = let there be light
FIAT NOBIS = let there be us
SINE NOMINE = untitled (as a poem)
+PAX TECUM = peace be with you (blessing for one person)
+PAX VOBISCUM = peace be with you (blessing for more than one person)

I was just complimenting our dear leader, who is an inspiration to so many.
The enigmatic empression in your photograph (assuming it's you) and the cepia tones just reminded me of the work of art in the Louvre. (It's behind glass nowadays; shame).

Hey,
Oh I see now! Thanks.
Yes, it is me. I am familiar with the painting although, I have never seen it in real life.
Enigmatic, huh?

Hey, I just looked out of my window and the dawn is breaking. The sky is vivid pink over misty blue - wow, beautiful. This can't be Earth! And I thought that I couldn't sleep, but I must be dreaming! Why can't all things be this nice? Like you and the dawn.

Hey Hey Hey,
I've seen the Mona Lisa and the rest of the da Vinci exhibit when it was in Victoria, B.C., Canada.
Extremely captivating image although I heard that the model is actually da Vinci himself portrayed as a female. I think that was part of the paintings enigmatic character.
Beautiful painting, beautiful artist, inventor, scholar, inventor, beautiful poem, beautiful avatar image, and beautiful title ( that's what initially caught my attention).
P.S. Radiogirl,
I think I like the poem better when its read in reverse.

Good Morning My Friends!
It is so nice waking up to kind words from fellow writers...
Trip
Thank you for your insight on Mona [ ( or should I now say Mana?) pardon my early AM humor!] ; it definitely sheds light on the ambiguos nature of the painting.
I read my poem in reverse and I like it better that way as well. Thank you for your kind comments!
Silke
Thank you for the much appreciated comments! I am not certain about the Latin... I am learning(with everyone's help)... Could you please translate?

This is a beautiful in-telling poem. Exquisite surrender, is what this piece is saying to me.
You have a raw abilty to say much with so few words.
Safe journey
