Transcendental Sonnet #983:
I Only Wish This Breath I Feel Were Yours
for Silke
Tonight I feel the first breath of the fall
Such that I sit and write these lines indoors
And ventured to the Plaza not at all
I only wish this breath I feel were yours
Instead of this vague chill which haunts the air
I wish instead of here that I were there
And whether Sweden or in Germany
It would be warmer there than in this place
For I would bask within your radiant love
And I would find my summer in that face
Which means the very world and all to me
The image I see shining up above
Me in the moon the stars and all the sky
My Silke... my love... my blue butterfly...

Hey Hey

Steven
This really is the best. Poetic, flowing, beautiful, touching. Humbling for we novice poets. Thank you.

Thou'rt no novice, nay!
You are a poetry moderator, an Englishman, and half-German to boot; I like these qualities in a man.
Scientists are often swell fellas as wellas.
My mood has certainly improved over the course of the day...
And Silke LLC
Is now reality
Thanks be to God and to my devil of a clever lawyer.

Your's is such a tender heart, Steve.
You amaze me, in as much as you are.. well.. a guy. Lol
Your heart and love for Silke warms any cold as 'Hell' day, anytime, anywhere.
All wish to find a love as pure and as breath-taking , in every breath, every waking moment, of their lives, as you two have.
The true depth of your potential (a poet, first and foremost) surpasses your experience as a writer and composer, by far.
I wish you two, nothing but the best of warmth and love,
Aiyana

Beautifully haunting, Steven
I t hink this is now my favorite sonnet you've written, and that's saying something. You've written so many.
Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you, Michelle!
I am so happy to see you here on the poetry board. The recent troubles are over now, and all is positive and constructive hereabouts.
"And peace at the last."
You can make some new friends here now, too; we are growing.
And we have so many new and such wonderful poems. ...And then I have a lot of new sonnets, too!
I'm writing pretty steadily. It's so nice to have peace on the board and on the site now. My head is all in the clouds as I work out the next sonnet, even now, so these my words might make no sense at all.
Back to work then for me, but I wanted to pause and tell you how happy I am to hear from you, and to see you here among us again.
Thanks for that, and thanks for not giving up on us as we went through our dark time of trial recently.
