Tired face holds slitted eyes
Where blurred visions charge
Striking every memory
Like brutal attacks
that spend too many tears

I want to take this opportunity to welcome you with an open heart to this our poetry community, and to thank you for this most thought-provoking and closely-written poem. It is concise, intensely evocative, and amazing with respect to the intensity and content held within such little space. You say more here in these five lines than many say in fifty-five.
Do be encouraged, and do know that you are cherished among us here. You are a part of us now. We seek to build a true community here, and you can be an important part of that.
Thank you for coming to be among us here. You make us better.
Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est.

Don't be discouraged about the lack of replies, anybody; it's always like this around here on Friday night. In this part of the world, so many are out, and in other parts of the world, so many are asleep.
We usually only have a few neuroscience types on the site this time and day of the week; the poetry board slows down considerably until the Europeans wake up and start reading and posting. They'll be here before very many hours have passed, and then things will liven up again. We definitely have busier and less-busy times hereabouts, depending on the time of day and day of the week.
I was sweltering in my hot house waiting for the plumber all day, and then I escaped to the Plaza to cool off and write sonnets. Now I have all these things to post, so I'm all distracted...
What can I say? Friday night on the poetry site.
You're doing a great job of replying to posts! I know that is very encouraging to people. I even got a reply just now! Thanks!
Solidarity.
(I wrote the above little note as a reply to a poem which, sadly, disappeared! I didn't get it posted in time, I guess; I'm sorry! I don't want anyone to be discouraged by the Friday-night doldrums...)

A tragic little event that plagues us all. Some little person arrives to bash our memories to pieces. Even more are slowly, excruciatingly erased, one stroke, until even the faded ones you thought would never abandon you fall away into the abyss. Why not call it "The Thief"? I so loathe the word "untitled" as my friend +Goofball can attest. You are a gifted poet tendering a great contribution to our site. If it's worthy of your name, it's worthy of a title. A profound message in a short, sweet poem. Difficult to do. You achieved brilliance there. Welcome to the site. You are welcome beyond words here. I thoroughly enjoy your posts here and will look forward to more. We are a hospitable, supportive group of writers engaged in the art of sharing, giving, and lifting up.
Post more,
Kevin
