Full Version: The Vacuum Energy
BrainMeta.com Forum > Science > Physics, Cosmology, and Geology
Rick
I just finished reading the current special issue of Scientific American on Einstein's legacy. 2005 will mark the 100th anniversary of Einstein's Nobel Prize winning paper on the photo-electric effect, and also, ironically, his quantum mechanically incompatible theory of special relativity.

The today-conventional theory holds that at the Planck scale (~10E-35) particle-antiparticle pairs are continually popping into and out of existence. This would seem to imply that this sea of virtual particles has some average velocity, that is, a preferred frame of reference, meaning that the old 19th century concept of "ether" or medium for light propagation should be correct. However, all experiments to date show that no such preferred reference frame exists.

To me, this contradiction implies that the so-called vacuum energy must be exactly zero so that space is actually nothing at all. That is, space not some thing that can exist. We have only material objects (particles) with relative velocities and distances between them.
Robert the Bruce
Since we know there is energy in the so-called vacuum we are faced with some fluctuating potential or a 'popping in and out' phenomena perhaps - as your emntion. Could there be a contact with other dimensions? In fact this is what the ancients said as they spoke about the Cosmogony of the Spheres. Thus testing for this dimension without considering the other dimensions that interact is a tired game supported only by the effort to insist our dimension is all that is important.
Robert the Bruce
This may apply or it may not.

DE-MATERIALIZATION: - Come on now!? Really? This is going too far, you might say. Eastern philosophy tells us there are seven layers of manifest physicality and spirituality. The same laws that operate in one dimension operate in all dimensions according to the phrase 'As Above, So Below' that is credited to the Babylonian Hermes Trismegistus and the Magi. It is one of the three laws of the magi and if you study the cosmogony of the spheres and the beliefs of many like Shakespeare you'll see this concept. This is undoubtedly true of the phenomena of invisibility and de-materialization as well. Many people can appear invisible who are not invisible however, and this is a different practice called 'mind-fogging'. Anton Mesmer was able to demonstrate this before skeptics and the marveling masses alike. Carlos Castaneda readers will have heard about his 'amber rays' that sound a lot like the energy packets of Tesla with non-force potential and also might have expression as gravity and affinity. The next quote tells us about a level of invisible force field that occurs with the input of elementals and possibly spiritual humans or sorcerer’s charms. In science we can probably already create some fields of force that enable much of these things and the Star Trek aficionados will recognize 'cloaking' in this helical seven layered conscious and unconscious interplay.
"In the Old Testament story about Balaam and his ass, Balaam's instructions from God forbade him to take a certain way, which he immediately did. His ass shied away from the path, but Balaam beat it back again. {Could the Mungo Man cavern dwellers have developed this kind of 'protection'?} It repeated this behavior and, finally, it lay down in the road and no amount of blows could persuade it to continue. The biblical explanation, put into the mouth of the ass, was that its refusal to move was caused by a vision of the Angel of the Lord standing in its path.
Frequently we read in accounts of fairy sightings that horses-- with or without carriages--are unable to pass beyond a point in the road adjacent to where fairy music is heard or where fairies are seen at their revels. It is said that St Thomas Aquinas, who learned the art of making magical models from Albertus Magnus, was so disturbed in his studies by the clatter of horses outside his house that he made a brass horse and buried it in the street. Thereafter no horse could be made to travel that way, even when whipped.
Similar legends can also be found in a modern context. UFO reports often feature car engines that stall in the presence of a UFO or when a UFO directs a beam of light at the car. Witnesses also speak of radios failing and watches stopping.
A ghostly variation on the theme appears in 'Weekend' (21 October 1970); several witnesses spoke of a phantom army which had been seen in November 1960 on a road near Otterburn, Northumberland, the site of a fourteenth-century battle. One of the witnesses, Mrs Dorothy Strong, was in a taxi. She said: 'Suddenly the engine died, the fare-meter went haywire and the taxi felt as if it was being forced against an invisible wall. The soldiers seemed to close in on us and then fade into thin air.' Several people said it had happened around that location before.
Some believe that the interference is caused by mysterious 'rays' and energy fields, similar to those beloved by early science-fiction stories and movies. The subject of 'secret rays' which could stop machines or cause 'mysterious' accidents was enthusiastically discussed in the popular press of 1923-24 and Oliver Grindell-Matthews, the eccentric British genius, even claimed to have invented such a 'projector' (Daily Mail, 5 April 1924). Another, long forgotten, manifestation was the incident in 1930 in which about forty cars stalled simultaneously on a road in Saxony. None of them were able to restart for about an hour (New York Times, 25 October 1930). Later on, the idea of 'death rays' and machine-stopping rays was revived in the classic rumours of World War II.
Today we know that powerful magnetic pulses can be directed in such a way as to stop machines, even car engines, at some distance and these have been developed as military and police devices. But still there is a kind of fascination in recognizing that the 'tractor beams' of 'Star Trek' have their counterparts, if not roots, the older traditions of fairy and ghost lore. {We will touch further on this in Druids, etc.} A similar effect to an 'invisible ray' is the inhibiting magical spell which can be lifted only by the person who placed it - a power attributed to George Pickingill said to be one of the last of the old 'cunning men' of Essex who died in 1909 {A photo included has a caption - 'said to be able to stop farm machinery with a glance'.}. In Katherine Wilshire's collection of tales from the living memory of her English country ('Ghosts and Legends of the Wiltshire Countryside', 1973), a ninety-year-old shepherd tells of a carter who worked on the same farm as himself at Newton Tony. One day the man was driving a wagon-load of wood and encountered a woman, known locally as a witch, who asked if he would carry her small bundle on his cart. He refused and tried to drive on, but the horses were unable to pull the wagon beyond that point, and he had no choice but to unhitch them and lead them home. The farmer returned the next morning, and again the wagon would not budge;' it remained stuck until they consented to carry the woman's small bundle of wood.
In the 1820s, General Andrew Jackson (a future President of the USA) heard stories about the 'Bell witch' - an active poltergeist at the Tennessee farm of John Bell - and went out of his way to investigate the matter. Approaching the farm, his horses halted as the wheels of his coach suddenly froze. Jackson examined them himself and could see no reason why the pushing and pulling could not budge them. The exasperated members of his party were startled by a metallic voice ringing out in the air: 'All right, General, let the wagon move.'" (8)
The 'rays' and photonic energy of gravity that was covered in our entry entitled negative gravity in ‘Science' are able to be contacted by a soul even though they are without a brain. String Theory tells us all matter and energy is comprised of 'one dimensional harmonic force' and M-branes. The primordial consciousness of the basic ingredients of the energy that forms all matter are able to be heard in the 'singing of the spheres' that Pythagoras and the 'Therapeutae' have known for millenia. Historians of philosophy and science have reported this 'anomaly' of what Michael Grant called 'weird'. The truth is that Aldous Huxley's 'perennial religion' is a better explanation of reality than the paradigm of science which is the soul-less basis of our day to day existence. The current quantum world is based on the same awarenesses. Each molecule is a complex system of the nuclear and other forces and dimensions thought to number eleven (In this reality, but who knows what will be found elsewhere, in the parallel and alternative universes they know exist?).
The spinach chlorophyll receptors that are being integrated into complex circuits for computeronics will reduce the size of computer chips and nanotechnological equipment to the size that will allow our bloodstream to have cleansing machines (and other more heinous applications) just as they will be able to clean oil spills and the air. The use of quantum teleport gates in computers is becoming a reality. Stephen Hawking says he knows time travel exists at the subatomic or molecular level but doesn't think complex systems will ever do it. I am near to certain he is wrong even though he is a great 'thinker'. The collective integration of affinity between natural energies with rudimentary consciousnesses is about to be replicated by humanity. Is this the first time sentient beings have done this on earth? Not at all! Perhaps it will be the first time that unethical undisciplined and otherwise extreme people will have access to it. Teleporting will require a disassociation of each molecule and subsequent re-constitution of it as shown on Star Trek.
Now if a simple ability to hear these elemental energies that can coagulate into spiritual energies with collective consciousness like faeries, is weird; what would Mr. Grant (who doubted Pythagoras could bi-locate) say about de-materialization. This is one way bi-location can be explained and as I mentioned I have some experience in the matter that I promised to write about in this 'Mysteries' section. With trepidation and knowledge that people are extremely threatened (and lash out to do vicious things like burn people at the stake or throw them in our 'hospitals without walls') I will endeavour to explain what my adept lady who developed a mountain climbing sutra did with me and could do.
Pythagoras never wrote anything and Socrates shared this commitment to the Law of the Magi known as 'Scrire, Potere, Audere, Tacere' or 'Know, Will, Dare, Keep Silent'. We all know what happened to Socrates. What I am about to write takes a willingness to forfeit one's life here on Earth. It also requires that the reader consider all we've presented so far and if this were to be critiqued by any writer or academic it would undoubtedly be taken out of context. The words of the dead Mr. Myers earlier said how difficult it is to convey the actual other dimensional aspects of our soulful existence and I can't promise I will do any better. However, I will try to do what few others have dared.
My lady Lydia was a Hawkins of the ancestry of the great privateer 'Black Jack' just as thousands of miles away in Ottawa (We met in Las Vegas.) a cousin of my sister-in-law who was about to come work for my family's company was living. They looked like twins and that was a powerful co-incidence of synchronous energy in itself. Our meeting was a 'trip' of grandiose proportions that makes another book I have written seem so weird it would only be regarded as fiction (that book is called 'The Nos Feratu'). In this meeting I was able to exhibit some control that later was almost non-existent and nearly rendered my soul. Rendered has many meanings and when applied to the butcher and his trade, it is close to what kind of lard or jelly (fish) my heart was 'feeling' after a few months that were wild beyond my own vivid dreams. The setting of the story began at the 'Shark Club' in Las Vegas one night just before I turned forty, about eleven years ago. I was in the process of buying a home in Las Vegas after moving from Los Angeles where I had been involved with a basic and ordinary woman (totally honest, and without my having even talked about an 'US') who had another amazing 'gift'. Her special talent was total sensory recall of the physical body. Yes, my life has been a myriad maze of the paranormal and sexual interplay of what most people would call 'fantasy'. In the relationship with Lydia she was honest and totally in control with no reason for me to even grasp at the smallest of straws to think there could ever be an 'US'.
Truly this is going to be HARD to do, and at the same time if one connected the components already covered they would be well on their way to understanding what might have happened or what Lydia could do. On the first night we met she told me she could de-materialize and that some day she would not return. The major reason for continuing to exist in this realm was her hopes to have a child with her husband. I had read 'Cosmic Consciousness' by Richard Maurice Buck; the noted turn-of-the-century psychiatrist who along with Walt Whitman was instrumental in ending the use of strait-jackets in asylums, when I was just a teenager. In fact a friend's older brother used to call me 'The Cosmic Kid'. In this book he recounts how a person de-materialized 29 times before all the skeptics, police and scientists of the early 20th century at McGill in Montreal. That person eventually didn't re-appear in the other room as he had always done. In the pursuit of understanding these things I had read or talked with numerous people about the Indian’s ability to turn around three times and discorporate at the appointed time in which they were to leave this earth. The Indians who can do this in India are usually of the Sai Baba level and those who do it in North America are of the shaman/witchdoctor training. Bruce Lee and his attempt to do these things associated with 'Kime' and a whole host of things like Carlos Castaneda who seems to say he is still doing the back and forth trip; made this bit of apparently incredible knowledge not as fantastic to me as you would imagine. But for it to be happening to me at a time when I had just been talking to a young man from New Zealand about how I was structuring my life's growth in the cosmic realms and decreeing said growth, was a further confirmation that I was worthy of this unique encounter. Some would use the words 'Heaven Sent'.
My family has heard this story a few times and they think I am close to insane or definitely deluded even though they have lots of similarly 'weird' things to recollect from their own experiences in my life. Many of the experiences are so threatening to them that they experience knee-jerk 'Denial'. Others become rationalized into co-incidence and/or the realm of Deepak Chopra and some 'unknowable'. There is nothing that is unknowable except for those who would keep their heads in the sand, I am frequently heard saying.
It has taken me years to grasp the inter-connections that may have gone on, as we continue to talk about all that went on. My limited adeptness is a factor that makes it hard to understand why I was so blessed (or cursed) and it causes me many hours of thought each month as I read and learn more about what our world is comprised of. She promised to show me the reality whereof de-materialization comes from - it was years later that I realized what I thought was joint astral travel initiated by her was actually part of what she promised. On the occasion of her taking me astrally (in an instant) to a stream leading to a lake in Switzerland, I had witnessed fish jumping out of the stream as if they recognized her spiritual body (solar or astral). When next I had seen her I tested her on the point and she recounted how they always did this and it was what she called 'flipping' because they would turnover in the air before they re-entered the water. My question of her had not mentioned the fish but just the lake and mountains. This Lake is supposedly the favorite lake and area for the great occultist Aleister Crowley who she left me at the junction of the stream and the lake to meet with. His spirit may not be just Aleister as we have covered and it would suggest he had a purpose beyond the obvious negative one we know about while on this earth. (That is irrelevant to this story but important to others we are thematically developing.)
I trust you can understand my confusion and uncertainty about all of this and why it was happening to me. My approach to knowing has seldom involved ritual and never been of the harmful to others (intentional) variety. I do adhere to the Law of the Magi dealing with 'Right Thought= Right Action' even though I do not follow the 'Keep Silent' part of the law previously mentioned.
Around this time our 'connection' was very strong and I would be driving on my way to Los Angeles in the pre-dawn as the sun shone on the mountains mentioned in the Area 51 or 'Black Ops' entry. This is when she enhanced my awareness of the conscious aspects of what the Indians know is great wisdom in the ageless mountain spirit. I could feel her as she did her morning meditations and know her in ways that were closer than she might have been if she were beside me. We seldom saw each other in person and my infatuation or obsession with her was TOTAL! On a couple of occasions I imagined I sensed Castaneda's 'amber rays' but that might have been the affect of the sunrise over the mountains in the half-dew of the desert. It was an awesome beauty and glorious feeling in toto. At the time all this 'closeness' and beauty was inundating me with wonder and awe but it didn't rise to the level where I doubted my sanity like Carl Jung experienced when he had visions of the coming World War I during his early life. It is interesting that the psychotherapy or psychoanalysis field is revolving back to Jung again and yet I haven't read any who deal in depth with his cosmogony recently in such a manner as to explain why it works. They are returning to it and the archetypes in a mere superficial manner. There is a definite genetic influence that the genome project and its 'History Book' might lead to us knowing why these things work in scientific terms.
One night I was aware that Lydia and I would never see each other again and I engaged in my meditative/mantra exercise (Yes, you could call it a ritual, but it was not designed to usurp and it was 'open' to whatever happened in RIGHT THOUGHT, so I can defend what I said about no ritual.). I reached out with all my love to all I had ever loved or had ever loved me. I was hurting and needful. I was certainly sorry for my weakness that had caused me to be unable to maintain a relationship with the only married woman I'd ever 'known'. Intellectually I understood all the ground rules right from the start but my heart could not feel her awesome beauty and know I would never really have her in my life. True, what I had was more by far, in a spiritual sense, and it should have been enough
Perhaps some day I will figure out how to integrate these thoughts without talking in the first person about things that happened in my life. How, that might happen seems beyond me without the use of a fictional presentation. That is not what it was, or is!
Perhaps it is 'too serious' and I will be able to tone down the intensity of the life I have lived as time goes by; maybe then it will be more palatable, or credible or literary.
Joan is the name of the woman who could recall the actual physical experiences of her life completely as if they were happening again. In every sense of the word ‘experience’ she could feel what I had done to the psychic point on her upper arm, while we were engaged in another technique. It was like an orchestra in one session with all the instruments being played on one person's body. To say the least it had been 'fun' for me; but she had become enthralled with me, as I was with Lydia. It had been six months since my move and I had not given her my phone number. The morning after I had been sending my love to Lydia: Joan called in a state of near hysteria. She had called the operator in Las Vegas and gotten all the phone numbers for Robert Bairds. There were over four of them but she had reached me on the fourth call. Her friend Melanie who had been with her the night we met at a jazz bar called Bourbon Street in Lakewood near Long Beach California had told her to call me. She felt I was the only person who could explain what had happened as Joan had been sleeping at her house the night before. This was probably due to the fact that I had been able to 'connect' with both of them during a palm reading on the night we met.
Her descriptions of the events were difficult for me to explain until I connected her experience with what I had been doing. The time was the same (around two in the morning) and the ghostly apparition had been turning side to side as I do when my arms were up at either side of my body as conductor/receivers of the energy 'above (hands up)' and 'below (hands down) '. I told her the apparition was my solar body or 'double' and that she had reached out for me as I was reaching out. She took this in an altogether too personal manner and I had to correct her. I told her that her screams hadn't been heard because she was asleep at the point she thought she was screaming. The metallic sounds of the scraping of the bed on the floor were not possible given the lack of metal in either the bed or the floor. I told her this was the moment she was brought back suddenly and astrally from her dream state. This sound sometimes is reported in the writings on the subject. So in some way (I didn't reach this conclusion while I knew or could reach Lydia to check it out.) Lydia had referred my love and energy to the person who most loved me. As to whether or not she did this consciously, I can't even guess. If she did do it with wisdom I would have been wise to let myself fall in love with Joan, I guess. Melanie had not heard her screams or any noise and the light of the soul or solar body had come as if through closed blinds and stayed for almost the five minutes I had been doing my 'exercise' while Joan had observed in a terrified state in the bed.
That is what happened and there have been many times while I study science and reality that I've thought about which particular powers or forces and bodies were at work and what part some higher conscious entity (such as the Tribunal or Council) might have had in bringing these kinds of occurrences into my life. Many mystics and psychics have told me that my purpose or job in this 'go around' is to prepare (in conjunction with others) the coming civilization of spiritually-focused people. That is an onerous responsibility and I have only recently taken it seriously. That, of course makes the writing of these things important even if only as a way of creating the 'template' and integrating thought as a part of the 'World Mind'.
Wow! Maybe Jung was right to doubt his sanity and maybe I should give it more serious consideration you might say?! You would not be alone if you said just that, I assure you. But much like what Malcolm Muggeridge said when he commented on society and our drugging and materially-focused paradigm - Jesus would be in a jail or a mental institution if he were alive today. Yes, the 'experts' may call me a witch while I do say I have followed the life of Jesus and studied as he did, with discipline and open heart. You can decide whether 'witches' are the only ones who actually seek all the truth available and try to live with 'Right Thought'. For myself I can think of many labels and beliefs which have such aspirations and I find merit in many who don't even aspire so high or with that level of meaning. To call me a witch and refuse to consider seriously the message of the mystics in all faiths and sciences is ultimately a fool's game. Socrates or some other ancient Greek alchemist said: 'A fool thinks he is a wise man; a wise man knows he is a fool!' Each door we open to learn more of the real nature of nature leads to many more doors.

Are you talking about how how multi-matter pops in and out of exixtence from a single point in the fabric of space? Where they theorize that one of those pops resulted in our universe being born as a result of the "Big Bang", I've read about this somewhere but I'll have to try to track the source down so I can give a better verbal development of this phenomena. The theory goes something like this:

The popping occurs from one point, some fade and dissipate while others, like our universe, have the right mathematical balance of required matter needed for any substantial forms of mattter to develop and eventually become universes. It states that multi-universes expand out 'bubble-like' one on top of the other.

As for this Quantum vacuum, where everything sucks (thanks Hey Hey, that one is funny), Was it not recently discovered that after Black Holes vacuum their surrounding space into total none-existence, that matter does not disappear completly, for they emit a gaseous cloud.

I wonder if Black Holes sucks everthing from one area of this universes' fabric of spacetime and emits it in reverse into another parallel universe or that the matter that gets suck through these holes are potentially even emited back into our own univrse in some unsees manner, maybe under the cover of Dark matter and the like, to become new stars, new planets, etc., (Regurgitaion/Cyclation) or becomes the matter that is emitted in other parallel 'Big Bangs'.

Reverse Osmosis.
Peeling back the onion.

Trip, I was referring to the whole magazine. What you describe about expansive bubbles (the multiverse) is also in there. A little far fetched. I'm not sure it really "explains" anything.

Nice theory though.

"Imagination is greater than knowledge," and I quote.
Trip like I do
Albert Einstein – 1879-1955 AD

· German-born, American theoretical physicist whose ‘General Theory of Relativity’ explains the evolution of the expanding universe.
· “Imagination is greater than knowledge.”
· Simultaneity of the universal present.
· Created much of the mathematical framework for understanding the microcosmic laws of the atom and the macrocosmic laws of the universe.
· Relativity Theory revolutionized both atomic and cosmic thought.
· Published ‘General Relativity’ in 1916. It is a mathematical theory of gravitation that replaced Newtonian concepts with abstractions so difficult that it took a decade for most mathematicians to even grasp them.
· A decade before, Edwin Hubble found that the cosmos is composed of out-rushing galaxies, Einstein’s equations showed that it should be either expanding or contracting.
· Before Einstein’s theory of relativity, no scientist could conceive that the present moment was not a clear picture of many events in space occurring in one arrested moment in time.
· Break up the simultaneous present into multiple different instants.
· General Relativity suggested that the universe as a whole is positively curved, un-curved, or negatively curved.
· Positively curved space – a sphere represents positively curved space where light follows closed curves like circles.
· Un-curved space – flat Euclidean space where light rays travel along straight lines.
· Negatively curved space – a saddle represents negatively curved space where light follows open curves like hyperbolas.
· Relativity showed that nothing could move faster than the speed of light, and that this velocity was constant, and that objects become more massive as they move faster.
· The greater the distance from the earth, the greater the speed of a galaxy and the greater the red shift.
· Edwin Hubble’s discovery that the cosmos is expanding, vanishing outward into space and his evidence is the red shift.
· The fainter and farther away a galaxy is, the more the spectral lines shift toward the red end of the spectrum and the faster it must be receding from the Milky Way.
· Relativity suggested the existence of a curved universe of four dimensions, a cosmos in which, besides the three conventional dimensions of height, width, and breadth, a fourth dimension of time was added, and in which the presence of matter accounted for the curvature.
· Combining the Doppler effect with Einstein’s high relativistic speeds revealed that an object hurtling toward an observer at near the speed of light appears bluer than those left behind and fading away, which appear to be redder.
· Relativity shows that the universe cannot remain static.
· It is expanding uniformly, a galaxy one billion light-years away recedes half as fast as one two billion light-years away.
· He also realized that gravitational fields bend light beams and change their wavelengths.
· The Sun and surrounding planets all create their own curved pockets in space.
· Einstein predicted that because of this warping, light rays passing near heavenly bodies would be bent.
· Several generations have come of age this past century, immersed in a culture that has witnessed the diffusion of the concepts behind relativity and quantum mechanics, ideas that originally could not even be verbalized. Artists were finding ways to express the inexpressible. Can we know how much of an influence their arts subliminal messages has had upon our subsequent thought patterns. The change from one system of seeing and thinking to another is inevitably a complex event.
· E = MC squared, states that matter and energy are equivalent.
· (E) energy, (M) matter, ( C ) fantastic speed of light 186,000 mps or 300,000 kms.
· Theoretically, 1 pound of matter contains enough energy to propel the largest ocean liner on 2 Atlantic crossings.

This may apply or it may not.

The primordial consciousness of the basic ingredients of the energy that forms all matter are able to be heard in the 'singing of the spheres' that Pythagoras and the 'Therapeutae' have known for millenia.

Pythagoras – 582-500 B.C.

· Ancient Greek philosopher, mathematician and cult leader, whose major belief was that the universe was made of numbers.
· Metaphysics of numbers.
· Aristotle tells us in Metaphysics (I,5) that the Pytagoreans were the first to advance the study of mathematics and are known as the first mathematics research society. So many discoveries were made by them: the existence of prime #'s, the distinction between odd and even numbers. the graphing of a regular polyhedron, and most of the theorems of elementary geometry.
· In the history of the field, the earlier number systems of the ancient Egyptians and Babylonians were more arithmatic than mathematical. The preceding systems were basically methods of practical land measurement. The Pythagoreans were the first to elevate this arithmetical geodesy to the level of mathematics and geometry.
· And, Pythagoras was born on the island of Samos i believe, of the western coast of Asia Minor, the original cradle of philosophy
· “Number rules the universe”, the Pythagoreans.
· Major contribution was the Golden Ratio, which was best represented geometrically as the golden rectangle. Visually, when it is squared, it leaves a smaller golden rectangle behind with the same unique ratio, the squaring continues, smaller and smaller to infinity.
· Pythagoras loved the shape for he found it everywhere in nature; ram’s horns, whirlpools, tornadoes, our fingerprints, our DNA, and even our Milky Way.
· Geometry and mathematics have long been associated with images of Utopia, that unattainable world of perfect social organization.
· The history of mathematics has a direct bearing upon the concepts of measure and control, which are part of the organization of society from its city planning to the proportions of its doorways and the movements of its people.
· He believed that only through number and pure geometrical forms could human kind grasp the nature of the universe.
· “The divine harmony of the universe is expressed and revealed in number”, (Hildebrandt).
· Taught the doctrine of the transmigration of souls, and also a system of astronomy similar to that of Copernicus.
· He developed the interesting and useful theorem that bears his name, Pythagorean Theorem, which states that the right sides of a triangle are related by the formula a2 + b2 = c2, where c is the length of the longest side, and a and b are the lengths of the sides that meet perpendicular.
· Founded a religious and philosophical society that had a strict set of beliefs and a fixed code of conduct. They believed that ”the soul could ascend through the spheres, to eventual union with God, by means of mathematics”, and that, “the principles of mathematics are the principles of everything and since numbers are by nature first among these principles, you can detect in numbers, more than in fire and earth and water, many analogues of what is and what comes to be…. And since, as Pythagoras discovered, the properties and ratios of musical scales are based on numbers are the ultimate things in the whole physical universe, the elements of numbers are the elements of everything, and the whole universe is harmony of number.” (Hildebrandt)
· 4th dimension – new ways of envisioning the world by means of new perspectives.
· As humanity develops perception will adjust to a four dimensional framework.
· Time is only an image of 4th dimensional space.
· Each step into a new dimension appeared at first to be movement in time but it became a dimension in space.
· Ability to perceive higher dimensions can be learned.
· The Renaissance perspective had expressed a unity of space in which everything found its place in the same moment of time.
· I do like the IDEA (percept, recept, concept), the fundamental existence of something, of the triangle - Pythagorean 'tetraktys' a figure regarded as sacred to that earliest ancient Greek philosophical society (mathematics/geometry). A triangle cannot exist in the world of phenomena in its own right. What is happening when we perceive something as triangular is that we are looking through the imperfect, triangular-appearing object to the idea of triangularity that lies behind it. That is how we are able to make the discrimination that what we perceive is a triangle.

Samos was the cradle of philosophy? Only because the records of the 'ogygia' were destroyed and Hellenizing became de riguer.

Actually Samos is a Phoenician stronghold with pirates and the like (most Greek Islands were including Rhodes) and Pythagoras and Thales both had a Phoenicain parent.

There were no real inventions in Greece that did not follow logically from the 'Ogygia' and Abaris the Druid (Abaris means Rabbi) is the head of the regions Bairdic (My name) University system which taught Pythagoras and Pythagoras went to learn in all their ashrams and centers of learning of old. That includes the Great Pyramid.

Suppose I go to Mars, say a light-hour away, and you stay on Earth. When I wonder what you are experiencing right "now," when is it? Is your now the same as my now?

Thought provoking question.
Let's try it.

Sounds like the start of another poem Rick.

I don't think that I would exist anymore, therefore, no thought would eminate from me for I will have ceased to be, at least on this plane we see..

[QUOTE=Robert the Bruce,Sep 02, 06:34 PM] Samos was the cradle of philosophy? Only because the records of the 'ogygia' were destroyed and Hellenizing became de riguer.

Pray, then do tell, what was the original, one, single, cradle of all philosophy?

Where Did it all begin RTB? And with whom did the original thought of thought manifest itself to. Would love to know. And don't tell me to research it or to buy one of your books.

It's simple if you know, say you know. If you don't know, then we will not hold it against you.

My research led me to Pythagoras and Samos, but you say it ain't so, so I guess it must not be so, for RTB says so.

There are no black and white answers - especially to such general questions. The 'keltoi' are the 'ogygia' or 'ancient ones' but I suspect the Mungo Man had a lot to do with our sciences and I do not discount Neanderthal or others.

Would that be one light-hour for you or one light-hour for me?

While you were on Mars would you be wondering what I'm experiencing?

What were some of those ancient philosophies and can any of them be traced through the eons, centuries, decades, years, days to today's philosophical thought?
Where it can be proven to have had influential sway on the thought of man.

Keltoi = Ogygia = Ancient Ones = philosophical thought.

And I believe (which I do not believe) that I'm reading something about Neanderthals being philosophers and scientist.

You still haven't told me where this cradle occured.
You've told me, sort of, who supposidley began philosophical thought.
The ancient ones to whom.

Mungo Man = Australia = Cradle of science and philosophy?

There is no craddle of culture - but the preponderence of knowledge developed in the Tarim Basin or Altaic Region as I see it. Hwever, there well could be Mungo Man doing it before then and they may have had a great deal of influence on the Red Heads there.

One must also look to Africa about 80,000 years ago and more.

But as my book Diverse Druids does show - most all religions today can be traced to the Tarim region (Mt. Meru is probably there.) and other colonies of this group of people who spanned the whole earth. Thus you have other key sites where they had universities or ashrams like Malta and Peru.
Hey Hey
Communication "now" and the real "now" (oh dear) cause issues. The first is location (oh dear) dependent; the second is location (I won't keep saying it) independent(ish). But curved space complicates location (oh dear - for curved space, I've already said it for location). Curved space might even permit communication "now" and real "now" to be one and the same (better than side by side, eh?) In fact, why can't curved space be progressed to allow every"where" to be the same place.

What was the question?
Hey Hey
.... and if every"where" was in the same place, there would be no need for the teleportation guys to do all of that characterising of (for eg) a particle, body, structure and then recreate it in another location, 'cos it would already be there.

Has this already been patented? (oh dear).

Rick, whilst on Mars could you plate out some 0.5 meter deep samples onto nutrient agar and incubate for a bit in your shorts?
Hey Hey
Didn't we make curved space happen because we looked at it? Observed, I mean.
