like a ghostly screen

watch the sunset on the range
the fiery orange glow
take a breath
feel the mountains and the valleys fold

come with me to where the water falls
a thousand crashing tears
joy and love and misery
emotions flowing ever-free

swim with me
in the mirror-lake so crisp
and crystal-clear
where fish and insects swim
singing ripples on the water's skin

dance with me among the clouds
while doves spin spirals all around
reach right up and kiss the moon
and listen to her tune

all the colours of the world
all the songs, the lands so vast
all the beauty that we've seen
everywhere we've been

all the things
that i could give you
all the wonders
i could show you
all those things
could burn
should come some great
apocalypse-explosion

what i never knew
i realised
all those things
may burn
so long as
