Subject: Parenti audio files

Friends,
Four files on my website, stolen on Winmx and converted to Windows Media files. Please download and listen. (I sent an email to Dr. Parenti to let him know what I'm doing, stealing his stuff and introducing people to his insights. If you can't beat the media, become the media, right??)

Michael Parenti packs so much knowledge and insight into a small space it's astounding. This is stuff we should all know but it's not taught in school or anywhere else. What we mostly get is disinformation. Trust me, I actually learned a lot of new things here, which is rare for me (I humbly state). I challenge you to listen and tell me you already knew all this.

Parenti, historian and political analyst, discusses ancient Rome, the Roman Republic, Julius Caesar, the historian Cicero, and the viewpoint of Rome from the viewpoint of the common people --- "the mob" or "the rabble". Boring?? Not!! Julius Caesar and life in Rome comes to life today. Lots of humor and interaction with the audience, and comparisons to the United States government and economic system.

Parenti introduced at University of Vermont upon the 25 year anniversary of him being expelled as a popular professor -- popular with the faculty and staff, that is, but not with the Board of Trustees. Quite insightful, beyond what I already knew about Mass Media. Any Dittoheads out there? This is for you, too!

Michael Parenti discusses the real interests of the Founding Fathers, in their own statements and actions, in part 1. Blows up a lot of "common wisdom" about what you think you know about America.
Then part 2, a radically different explanation of World War II that what you've always known. England and France did not "appease" Hitler. Facts listed in this article http://www.tarpley.net/bush2.htm are not mentioned, but the names are mentioned.
Lastly, a short piece on Mumia abu Jamal, prize-winning writer who was until recently on Death Row (I previously read much of the entire Habeus Corpus filing, and official court transcripts and unofficial reports.)

The most radical and fiery of these four discussions, an analysis of the difference between "government" and "state". NOT a boring civic lesson. The question of "why this difference is important" and "what does this mean" is what makes this an analysis. The fact that it's an analysis opposed to mere explanation is what makes this a "radical" discussion. If you start, listening to this whole piece is suggested.
