Lost and Found

Lost, but a child…alone.
In the shadows of such strife
strife I cannot bear.

I sit in silence counting
desperate days of existence,
studying this impassable
mountain before me.

To climb this summit of strife?
“Well beyond the ability of one.”
Reality reigns here
at the forefront of
a surrendered spirit.

Parted lips never yearned
so much for answers…
for companionship…
for a Father’s compassion,
as the night I found salvation
waiting in the shadows.

“Come to me child.
Lend me your foolish ear,
your hurried heart,
your shallow voice,
and I shall answer.

I am the way,
and the light divine.
I am the beginning
and the end of all things.
I am salvation eternal
And refuge evermore.

Cast your tribulations
upon the ivory tide.
Alas, seek me
in the darkest of hours.

I am there always
amidst the shadows,
wanting of your voice
to call upon me
so that I may carry you
over the impassable summit
you so fear…
and well beyond.

Fall upon your knees
and believe in me.
Such is the price
of life eternal.

Then, fall upon your knees
and simply ask of me.
Such is the simple price
to surpass the summit.”

Found, but a man at peace.
In the light of such calm
I cannot compare.

I sit in silence counting
blissful days of existence,
studying the impassable
mountain behind me.
