Transcendental Sonnet #879:
They Rise in Moonlight

Friday the thirteenth is over thank God
Saturday the fourteenth is almost gone
It was unlucky and awful and odd
How did we live through it? Does life go on?

Are we living now or are we dying?
In the midst of life or the midst of death?
Are we laughing now or are we crying?
Relish or regret this heartbeat this breath?

And the answer is all of the above
For the answer is the question of love

Shall these bones live? Oh yes they will they do
They rise in moonlight to become who we
My Silke are who we were meant to be
Each one of yours for me all mine for you
