Transcendental Sonnet #867:
Squawk and Cock-a-Doodle-Do

Silke when you are alone in your bed
And you feel scared and your breathing is tight
And you see horrors think of me instead
Dressed in a chicken-suit to put things right
With big yellow feet a wattle of red
And with a big red cockscomb on my head

Just hear me squawk and cock-a-doodle-do
And let your pretty lips curl up and smile
You know I would do anything for you
And I could be a chicken for a while

So if you see a great big chicken come
Into the hospital just know that I
Though feeling fowl and looking poultry-dumb
Became a chicken for my butterfly
