The Search
A search for wonder, with no prize
An academic's role, in guise
I look toward the stars to find
A miracle that could ease my mind
The torment that pervades all life
A twisting, cruel, sadistic knife
Forever onwards, take no ease
To seek that answer and appease
One day we will see God, unite
With him cognisant, end the fight

Yes, Hey Hey, very well-put and expressed; the title says it all, too: "The Search." I think that is a very apt way to describe this adventure on which we find ourselves. A good and strong poem, which makes a lot of sense.
I do like your style very much; I am, obviously, a formalist, and I do enjoy such arcana as rhyme, meter, and that sort of thing. When I was younger I wrote very "free" poetry, radically different from what I write today, but I have become quite the formalist in these my latter days. So I welcome the patina of your poetry with interest and appreciation, and welcome you as a long-lost comrade now found.
I find your poetry to be, for want of a better word, intelligent. I enjoy that. I find nothing to be more delightful in a person or a poem than intelligence.
I will telephone Silke now pretty soon. Do be encouraged in your poetry.
