Transcendental Sonnet #863:
Torch

The anger burned into you
The anger forced on you when you were small
The anger coming through you
The anger it was not your fault at all
Connects with me and I can feel it too

The righteous indignation of your youth
The blazing torch which lights your way to truth
Will serve you well to see you through these days
And I will be right next to you always

Who fights the past the present must not lose
We have grown up we are in charge we choose
To never be afraid of them again
Their past their pain their bitter legacy
The future now belongs to you and me

"the future now belongs to you and me"

oh man. that IS the future (even tho only you understand what the "future" really means NOW)

Stand up for yourself and for your LIFE, the life you live and not them. the future is yours and no one elses, just depends on who you let come into yours.

Hey Hey
Steven

I really thought this poem was great. Meaningful, rythmic, with history and future, describing the crap and yet demonstrating positiveness. Yes, I really like this one.

I don't really understand the comments by anonymust but I'm glad she loved it.

All the best
