Transcendental Sonnet #816:
Dawning Into Smiles
I don't care what anybody says
I believe we can survive these days
I believe we can survive these woes
These sorrows these sicknesses these foes
Nothing and nobody can prevent
Us but now we must never give up
If we stay strong and never relent
And if we never fail to live up
To our dream of this love which we share
Nothing can stop us and we'll get there
Sooner or later the world will see
That we overcame all these bitter trials
With grace with strength and with dignity
Our weeping sunsets dawning into smiles

Thank you so much, Mausi. I hope this little sonnet of mine made you feel better.
I really do believe what I say in it, with all my heart, that we will overcome everything; nothing can stop us now, nothing.
I love you for so many reasons... one of the reasons is that you taught me this phrase:
DUM SPIRO SPERO
And that this was the very line by which my Mom and Grandma raised me, but they said it in English:
WHERE THERE IS LIFE, THERE IS HOPE
This is no coincidence. We were meant for one another from the foundation of the world: Schicksal.
Another beautiful convergence is that I always used to sign all my letters with these words:
AMOR VINCIT OMNIA
But then I had my heart so broken that I put that phrase out of my mind, and no longer believed it to be true. But then when I met you, you signed your letters that way. Now we both do, I again as I once did, and I believe it more than ever because you have proven it to me, you are proving it to me, and you will yet prove it to the world; indeed we will both prove it to the world together:
AMOR VINCIT OMNIA
I love you so much that I can only express how I feel about you anything like adequately through all these sonnets. People wonder why I write so many sonnets; you know why... because I love you this much.
Thank you, with all my heart, for loving me, you wonderful, beautiful person, my best friend.
OK, I have to confess something here: I love to look at your picture which you use here in the forum; you look so pretty in it... this photo has inspired many sonnets already, and you've only had it here a few days! Don't ever take it down, OK? It inspires me.
I'm the luckiest man in the world, to have your love.

Thank you dear Tobias, my friend... you and I are drawing closer all the time, in understanding and solidarity; although unspoken it is perceived, although unremarked it is felt.
I am so grateful to you for both your kindness to me and the great help and support which you provide to the one we love so much, to Silke Shining in the Sky.
I send you respect from across the sea.
The Democratic Convention starts in Boston today; it should be interesting, and help Kerry's poll numbers. I hope you will be able to see some of the speeches. Both Clintons are on tonight.
