I can’t have ever loved before, I never felt this ache.
This wanting, agonizing feeling, that thinking of you makes.
We went sailing on the stars, the night did not pass us by.
We dreamed our dreams together, on waves of a starlit sky.
Those nights are gone now, they’re all in the past.
I should have known, it just wouldn’t last.

Heart has hardened..to just a stone.
I had hope..oh so rare, but now it’s gone.
His words he spoke..I didn’t want to listen
tears slowly fall..each one glistens

Soul still here...trapped inside this human sphere
had it all...when he was near.
Foolish is the one to have such hopes and dreams,
life it seems holds darkness and endless schemes.
I touch your face, the teardrops fall,
We had it once..God we had it all.

When you play this fickle game called love,
You wonder where is help from above.
You surrender it all, you have no defense
And try as you may, it makes no sense.

He said that it would be all right
he said that I just had to fight
You sit and you wonder was it all a mistake
No it wasn’t, nor was it fake.

Now I say good bye, it’s what I know I must do,
but truth be known, all I ever wanted was you.....
The say time heals all pain, and what was slowly dies,
I will love you as the years go by,
Till there are no tears left to cry,
Till the angels close my eyes.
