Oh no, here comes that sun again
It means another day without you,
my Friend

And it hurts me
To look into the mirror at myself
And it hurts even more
To feel these things I've never felt

It's just
So hard to do, and so easy to say
But I'll try my best
To say good-bye to you today

And once again that sun is dropping on down
And once again, you my friend
Are nowhere to be found

So here I stand
Refusal to cry
Easily I said the words
But can't see the "good" in "bye"

Selina, I am so glad to see you here among us on the poetry board again, and especially with such a wonderful poem; I really love this one.

That's a very good idea... the "good" in goodbye...

A fascinating concept, well and wisely realized.

Thank you so much for writing and posting this excellent poem. I think this is a good time for poetry right now... I have been writing all day too... Sometimes I wonder if the moon is affecting me, or the stars; sometimes it just seems like we write more and better than at other times.

Whatever it is, the moon, the stars, whatever it is, you are writing well, and I am happy to read what you have written. Your sharing with us is a gift which is truly appreciated.

Thanks again, and do be encouraged!

Thanks a lot, Silke, Steven.

I appreciate your feedback on my poetry. I sometimes think that my failing attempts at poetry are more and more fleeting. I don't know much about poetry, just that it has been my best form of expression for the past eight years of my life. I can either suck horrobly or do surprisingly well... I prefer the latter!
