Speak from the heart
Speak from the soul
Rhyme does not matter
Only reason
Express that which is you
The Wonderful You
The Beautiful You
Express all that you are
And you will have written.....
A poem.

James M. Guzman

Just a few thoughts on what makes a "Good Poem."

I felt this needed to be posted for all to read. Just another opinion on writing poetry.

tolerance does not mean putting up with snid remarks from the peanut gallery......Just my opinion ;D
so please keep your rude opinions to yourself if you find it your common nature is to be be insulting............ Now I ask the question? do we need to go back to our childhood of treating others the way you would want to be treated...?

Any other "appropriate" opinions are more then welcome from the Black Baron....
Thank you and have a nice day! ;D

You're correct. You are entitled to your opinion, as I am mine. However, when one insults others (failed poet, gasbags, ultimate poetic authority, and other such foolish comments) in voicing those opinions, it becomes a problem.

You and I have no more authority on what poetry is than anyone else here has. A poem is an expression of one's feelings. whether it is expressed in simple or complex forms doesn't matter. And to make fun of those whose form of expression differs from yours is just wrong. i respect your poems (always have), and i will continue to do so. But don't insult those who have a differing style. It harms the site.
