This eternal light
Dispelling darknesses; this absence of day
perhaps also my impoverishment, her longing, for illumination of soul

There was morning while she gently groaning slept,
That gentle peach promise and the highest of haze
To wake the earth, and banish the terrors,
or this peace, conditional on the day

There was the afternoon when all sweet promise was exhausted
And that sun flung itself evil at a prostrate rockscape
Staggering, silver, solid beats of heat
Driving all to shelter without and within

To be relieved and breathed
As red amber turned blue grey black.
Venus and her host apologising
with pinpricks of fire burnt cold from fair infinity
While he recovered with showered sizzle and splash
And whispered soul sound echoed some relief
