Transcendental Sonnet #734:
My Son's First Toga Party

My son just graduated from high school
And wasting no time since he is no fool
Has graduated into college mode
Now as he marks this milestone on the road
Tonight he came by to borrow a sheet
And some safety-pins to make it look neat
On his way to his first toga party

Where the wine and the laughs will be hearty
Where erstwhile high school kids of yesterday
Will mark their passage in the ancient way
From callow youth in vino veritas
To find that which will be in that which was
Therefore I raise this glass to you my son
Your academic life has now begun
