Transcendental Sonnet #732:
Song of Desire

In answer to a reader's comment yes
Silke you do inspire me every day
You fire my desire you burn and you bless
Me with bright shining light in every way
You flood all my senses with ecstasy
With overwhelming love you vanquish me

My conqueror I stand before you here
Your name is written on my body now
By perfect love I would cast out your fear
Heal all your wounds and with my flesh endow
You with a love to last you all your life
As you and I flare up into one flame
My goddess-woman gossamer-spun wife
The keeper of my heart and of my name

You are a wonderful poet,Steven, and a wonderful husband.

Ama me fideliter,
Fidem meam noto,
Decorde totaliter,
Et ex mente tota,
Sum presentialiter,
Absens in remota

Love me faithfully,
See how I am faithful,
With all my Heart,
and all my Soul,
I am with you,
even though I am far away

I love you.

Aww... Baby-girl, you're the greatest; the best there is or ever was. God, how I love you!

I have to go to this stupid appointment now with the SS (Social Security, haha), but after that I'm gonna come home here and drink wine and write kickass sonnets. Maybe I'll take a walk down to my beloved, sweet old Plaza, and sing "O welche Lust in freier Luft."

I have to remember not to wear my father's garrison belt, as I always do, because it sets off all the elaborate bullshit of "Homeland Security" at the Federal Building. That's just like my father, isn't it? Even his belt is subversive...

I have got to be the luckiest little bastard on God's green earth to have you as my wife. Yowza! Yowzarowza!

Think of me, honey. I'm not sure if I remember how to spell it, but I'm going--as we say in La Cosa Nostra--in bocca del lupo now, into the mouth of the wolf.

I will probably stand in the shower much too long. It makes me feel dirty to have government appointments.

I love you, Mausi. I am SO happy you like this sonnet! I will write you a few thousand more, OK?

It's all for you, babe. The best little girl in the world, damn it!

*SKWN*

Your reply has really cheered me up, by the way.

AMOR VINCIT OMNIA! VIVA IL VINO!

P. S.: I absolutely ADORE that bilingual poem you posted, in Latin and English. Bellissima (why am I feeling all alla Siciliana this morning? Wer weisst?)!
