Broken Angel


She didn't know she was a child of God.
It seems her prayers were never heard.
That's why she is so confused.
Oh god why don't you answer her,
This angel so abused.


The evil ones broke your angel child
They tore out her heart and soul
She's lost and lonely this angel so defiled.


Her halo's gone
Her wings are bent
Her skin has lost its golden shine
Her abusers committed such a crime.


The twinkle in her eye is gone
Her smile is now a frown
Her tears they fall just like the rain
As she walks with her head down.


She looks up in the sky,
And wonders where the stars have gone
Then proceeds to pray


I beg you Lord
To hear my prayer
This prayer I prayed before
Just answer me this one question
What did they hurt me for?


Did you put me on this earth to be hurt this way?
Each and every day?


Oh dear Lord, hear my cry look at me and see,
These memories are destroying me!


I use to push them back; I did with all my might.
But now I have given up, I don't have it in me to keep up this fight.


I'm too weak to go on Lord, what am I to do? I can't stand the hurt and pain,
And torment I go through.


She finishes her prayer and says Amen
Then tears begin to fall, as she cries again.


This broken angel needs you Lord,
So she can begin to mend,
And welcome you in her heart as her friend
