Full Version: drugs that evoke tissue nutrition ?

Ok I have a question I was hoping somone out there might be able to answer, so here goes ..

Intraligamentous blood vessels are sparse. Therefore, mid-tissue nutrition relies greatly on diffusion from nearby blood vessels which lie parallel to the tissue and synovial fluid.

My question is how can you evoke or cause a diffusion of these nearby blood vessels ?

Is there any form of drug that can do this for example or perhaps something else ?

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated .

thanks

matt

what about vasodilators like vinpocetine or maybe even niacin, which causes surface blood vessel dilation (i.e., flush) in higher doses (like 500 mg).

I take omega 3 fatty acids I'm afraid it will take something with lot more whack do do anything.

I read the following extract from an article and it got me thinking what would happen if i could somehow artifically induce all these factors mentioned .

"The initiating factors in the inflammatory response are not clearly defined. It does appear that intracellular materials are released when cells are injured. These substances, such as histamine, serotonin, proteolytic enzymes, and biologically active peptides known as kinins, are responsible for the vascular dilatation, the increased permeability of venules, and the chemotactic effect on leukocytes."

I am not sure about them all because I haven't really investigated into it , other than a Hawaiin baby woodrose seeds for the build up of serotonin I'm not sure what would be best to use for the others.

As always any feedback would be greatly welcomed.

thanks for your replies so far.
