For adults here who lived thru childhood sexual abuse. You probably already know about 'survivor' websites. There are dozens of these, maybe hundreds. The sites advertise themselves as places for adults to go to for help if they were molested during childhood. The websites which allow the general public to post messages, stories etc can be very dangerous both emotionally and physically. This is cyberspace. No-one really knows who they're dealing with. Anyone can pretend to be anything. I've tracked survivor websites since 1995. I've seen men using womens' names to interact with female rape/incest victims. Thousands of times. That's routine at survivor websites. Pedophiles seek out such websites pretending to be victims. Their goal is to get real victims to tell their stories. The men get off on this. The worst of these survivor websites are dedicated to male survivors. The best survivor websites are information-only. No public forum,no discussion board, etc. If you want information, you email whoever's running the site.

The info you have posted about Survivor Web sites may be the case for some, however I have ran a Survivor Site for about 4 years now, and have watched 100's of survivors come and go, some hanging on the edge of life, and if it had not been for the message board and them finding other survivors to talk to, that could relate and valadate what they are going through, I am not so sure they would havd made it through the really rough nights..So with that, please know that...there are GOOD Survivor message boards...we have to learn to trust at some point in our healing....Just my 2 cents worth smile.gif
