Transcendental Sonnet #651:
Dies Infaustus!
Dies infaustus! When morning is night
And if this day dawned it dawned without light
Hoping the hopeless and pulling for shore
To drift these Stygian waters no more
Heat without light motion without progress
Gesture without meaning shape without form
Hoping the hopeless without hope unless
Two in propinquity can share one warm
Moment together encounter of peace
Contact miraculous in which will cease
The endless prods and pokes and pricks of pain
And can we then recover what matters
As external reality shatters?
Dies infaustus! Yet we rise again!

Now this is divine. Well written. Eloquent. Imagery and flow dancing together in a waltz of passion and despair. Keep the faith my friend. Through Him all things are possible. Remember your roots my friend. Stay grounded. It could be much, much worse than it is. Remember how fortunate you are. Remember what you do have. You already have what so many spend their lives looking for never to find it. This poem is one of my new favorites. You both remain in my prayers.

Thank you, Kevin, with all my heart. I don't think I could live without you, honestly.
For the record:
Dies infaustus = a day of unfavorable omen.

Dear Steve,
One thing that I love about your work is my incessant need to reach for a dictionary.
You are a teacher and you do it well.
Nice work my friend
Namaste
John
